Cheers from the Middle East - Costa Rican guy

Cheers guys!

My name is Luis, 32 year old guy. Currently owner of two Fbs. One 82 and one 83. My 82 was my first car..... Looong story, but to make it short never had the money to bring it back to the state I wanted. Along the years I've made several attempts to restore the car making it worse. That's when I bought the 83.... Same story, years went by and the 83 is in descent shape but won't do anything with it for the moment.

Now I'm working in an airline in the Middle East, pay is good and I just started to restore from zero my 82. I'm really excited about this project. Sad thing... My car is in Costa Rica.... More than 13000 Kms away.

I'll be needing plenty of help from you guys in order to bring it back to life. I'll be posting pictures along the way.

Thanks all!!!!

Right on =) We've got a lot of people on here who are very smart on these cars (all generations) so you've come to the right place for getting help on fixing your car right the first time. ;)

Welcome! So are you a flight attendant or something to where you travel with the airline, or are you permanently based in the middle east or what? I'm just wondering how you'll work on the car when you're not there, or if that's the help you need from the group haha.

Jajaja, I'm a pilot with Qatar Airways. Yeah, I'm based in Doha, so it's quite imposible for me to work on the car, however I have a friend who works in a prestigious shop in CR that it's working on the car.

The car is completely strip down to the core, and many many many parts are lost. I'm buying a lot of parts from everywhere, but there might be times that I might be missing something and that's when the help comes up!!! I'll be posting this project in detail soon. Is there any specific part on this forum with Projects and Restorations?

Gotcha! Well good luck with the restoration! I look forward to seeing pics of the project! And good thing you're a pilot, you should be making pretty good money to put into it haha.
