Studs vs. bolts for mounting turbo

Is there a preffered way to mount a turbo to a manifold?
Or does it make any difference?

I wouldn't think so. Setting the right torque with either one is more important than anything else. That should keep it from leaking.

You want to use studs/nuts. Getting a bolt/nut on would be quite a pain for most manifolds.

studs. bolts eventually wear out the threads in the manifold flange and could end up cross threading. you can always replace a stud if it gets buggered up. same reason why there are studs in the housings
