so i was about to use this center iron in my build, and discovered two pieces of metal stuck inside.. turned out to be pieces of internal passage that had broken off somehow or rusted through?

interesting. Almost looks like a rust holes. Perhaps bad casting in the iron? I've had a mazdaspeed 4.88 gear break from an air bubble in the casting. (and guess what they don't warranty : ( )

I think the motor froze while not having anti-freeze / coolant in it...

I've never seen damage of that nature before ... live and learn, I guess. that's crazy.
