My FD3s Rx7 - Pic Heavy

Hi folks. Just joined up, but had this FD since February. Bought off a local guy here back then. He didn't have the time/money to look after it, so I got it for a good price.
Since I bought it, I've repsrayed it matte black, changed the engine, and got it mapped a few weeks back. Not sure what power it's putting out, but it's pretty tight through the whole rev range, and that's good enough for me at the minute.
Note: Magingle is a good friend of mine, and he's the reason I got into cars in the first place.

The state of that bumper..

Forgot to get a group pic of this stuff, so I took one of the receipts instead:

Two of the helpers. That's how much magingles beard grew whilst working on this car:

The ridiculous gun we got to borrow:

Found this IN the wing of the car.. literally:

We couldn't believe the bumper was in this shape.. The whole bottom of it had to be constructed:

No going back now!

Getting there:

Little parts to be sprayed:

Wheels all masked and primed:

Tada! Magingle would appear to be a beast at the reconstruction of bumpers:

Another of my helpers :) :

Morning after the respray:

Last night, when me and magingle were at the end of our wits (Me, mostly):

That's all the respraying, obviously. As I said before, A new engine went into it about 2 months ago as the previous one was very low on compression, and the housings were badly scored. Still have the rotors though, and they're in good nick, if anyone's interested in them. Also installed NGK iridium's 9's after I got it back. They were awkward to change..
It got mapped a few weeks back, and has been running really well since.

Since the respray, which was back in the Easter holidays, a few things have been changed. I didn't have the car for a month afterwards whilst the engine was being put in (I wouldn't trust myself to do it), and when it came back there were some marks on the wings, and the bumper was never sitting right.. It's just a shame the engine didn't have trouble BEFORE the respray, but what can ya do.
I decided not to connect the bumper to the wings using the provided bolts, but rather cable tie it. I've been told it's a lot better if I ever hit something, as it being bolted would wreck a lot more.

The cable ties:

Since this some knacker came along and cut them.. I had to stick in black ones until I buy some more assorted ones.

Where I live, in Donegal, there's a big rally weekend every June. During the one this year, a numpty rubbed up against my car while he was pulling away and didn't even tell me about it:

I've since called him out on it, and it turns out he's f*cked around a lot of people I know. Oh well.

The interior isn't too great.. Whatever spastic had it before me decide to glue the Power FC commander onto the dash, and it left this..:

I decided the best way to fix this (for now) is to stick the commander back on with velcro, as this won't damage the dash, in the event the power FC would have to come off.

That's it for now, more or less. My current plans are:

1. V mount setup
2. Battery relocation
3. fuel pump
4. coilovers
5. Fix up bits of the interior
56. New head unit and speakers.

Currently, I have no money whatsoever, and it's going to be next month at least before I can spend anything on it, but hopefully by the end of the Summer next year I'll be very pleased with it. Saying that, I've fallen back in love with it since I got the map done. :)

Oh, and I must learn how to drift now! ;D

So that's my FD. Any comments/questions welcome. :)
