Using an Xcessive LIM with 99 or stock twins

Using an Xcessive LIM with 99 or stock twins:

The Xcessive LIM is not a direct replacement for the stock LIM if you plan to continue to use the stock or 99 twins. There are several things that don’t allow them to bolt right up. Here is a list of modifications that need to be made:
Oil and Water supply lines need to be bent to clear the front side of the LIM
Primary turbo compressor housing needs to be cocked about 5 degrees out for the piping that runs to the intercooler to fit. Fortunately the Pre-Control and Waste Gate actuators do not need modification if you don’t over do the rotation.
Oil fill neck needs to be heated and bent forward about ½” (thanks Rich for this tip).
UIM front bracket needs to be bent about ½” towards the front of the motor and the slot lowered (I did this with a dremel)
Secondary turbo needs about ¼” shaved off the compressor housing to avoid contacting the LIM.
Heat shield needs to be hammered in on the back of the turbo to avoid contact with the LIM.
Vacuum hard lines need to be bent to avoid the new position of the oil and water turbo supply lines.
Pressure Chamber relocated
Stock Leading coil relocated or modify UIM
Catch tank relocated if using stock Oil fill neck

Could you elaborate a little on heating the plastic oil fill neck. Heat-gun I assume. Anything else to it, can it be done on the car? Thanks.

Yes, we used a heat gun. Takes quite a bit of heat to get it to bend, so much so that it will blister the plastic. I would not suggest doing it on the car. It seals with an O-ring, so makes sure you have a new one on hand when you remove it. You could also save yourself the work and buy this: http://mrcmfg.com/catalog/product_in...roducts_id=258

I had the same clearance issues, but went with ReSpeed filler neck. It clears

Interesting, I see from your pictures that you had a clearance issue with the stock leading coil also. I run an aftermarket so I didn't have that issue. I will add it to my list above with your permission.

By the way, mine came with a longer bolt for the one you show.

Go for it.

The LIM didn't come with a bolt so I had to source my own.
