Rotary Go-Kart Project

This has been a slow project due to limited options for the driveline but today we made some progress since we have some ideas for that little dilemma.

Today we strengthened the frame some more since the extension was made and finally added our FD seat, whatcha think?

are you going to use the 303cc sachs single rotor that came in various snowmobiles in the 70's?

Ive actually seen the Sak's engine on a generator. A friend of mine had one years ago.

Zach has plenty of experience with Sachs.

as a generator engine i bet it was good on fuel- one of my friends has a 70 something arctic cat sled with one and its surprisingly better on fuel than my (much larger displacement) two stroke sled- of course not as fast but still a fun little engine

^ Yes, this so true. Rotaries are fuel efficient when run at a regulated/constant RPM which is why they're well suited for small applications. We have a nice generator at the shop run by a Sachs that's large enough to power a house.

almoststockfc 02-21-2012 12:43 PM

Probably 2 houses

My buddy actually wanted to do the same thing and put it in a go-kart but never did because he's a slacker. I think he ended up selling it to someone though.

Nice cart! You guys going to bring it along to DGRR this year?

almoststockfc 02-21-2012 06:54 PM

If everything comes together we will. We will just not bring as many bikes

TitaniumTT 02-21-2012 08:03 PM
