Looks like he's just loping along, then suddenly decides to be fast.

Bad parking lot to have a setup like that...... although the local club here in CT has made a few questionable decisions in their courses, we've only had one such incident when a a phord rustang GT... think mid 90s, was going though a left hand sweeper, back end started sliding, tried to power on, when that didn't work she slammed the brakes and ended up spinning into one of those 5' tall round concrete lamp post bases...

we have 1-2 wrecks per year here. you cant always blame the club/venue, sometimes people are just stupid. i still cant figure out what the hell that guy was doing. hit the wrong pedal maybe?

in recent memory we've had:

240sx: throttle stuck to floor, driver stomped brakes. two black striupes for 50ft, then up over a giant boulder. trashed the car, rolled boulder 15ft.

996: guest driver, pushed the gas instead of brakes somehow in the finish box and drove into grid, totalling several cars. mostly vettes and porsches.

fox body convertable: lost tail in slalom, and proceeded to powerslide 50+ feet into a barrier. that was nowhere near the slalom. i wanted to spray him with the fire extinguisher for being a dumbass lol

I have done an event in that particular parking lot before, 2 years ago. The track boundaries however were placed well away from the curbs unlike the track in this video. I don't believe this event was an SCCA sanctioned practice/race.

I like how polite the track guys where. "Sir are you ok" "please turn off the car sir."

When I was still wisconsin the club that run the events I went to only had one real close call. A Saturn got on two wheels and almost rolled over. pic below. That was the worst I heard about.

Don't forget the A-mod that went through a fence. The throttle stuck. I can't recall if the kill switch didn't work, or the driver couldn't reach it, or what. It stopped at the guardrail across the street from the fence.
