Carbon Cansiter help??
I noticed a gas fume smell in my car today I traced it down to my carbon canister having a broken smaller plastic nipple. I guess this is the tank or feed side. I did a emissions removal so the big pipe isnt hooked up to anything on the driver side. What are my options? I put the two hoses together so it would not vent fuel fume right over the turbo. that could be bad.

Get a new canister. Don't delete it, makes no sense.
You could get a new canister or just lengthen the lines and run them to vent under the car.
I have the line running to a hole in my air filter maf adapter.
Bad
Let me Re-Phrase
VERY VERY VERY BAD. You're going to pressurize your tank under boost and richen the mixture under vacuum. Delete it properly or get a new one |
it will always see vacumm. and how do I delete it correctly?
I beilef mazda is the only one who has them. and they want $125 for one.
These parts are easy enough to find in the boneyards, don't bother with a new one.
the only one I can find that is close is the FD one for about $113. the way I have it right now is loosing feed thru a hole right after the air filter. tank should never pressuize and the vapors go thru the engine.
Again... Very very bad
Was able to find on at a junk yard, but the lady charge me for a coil pack plus $3 core charge. I also ran a line to the engine so it is back to the way it should be. This killed to birds with one stone. the cap on the nipple was falling off. =
