Atlanta Caravan to B3R 2011

This is subject to further details and or change. So look at the last post of any updates. Looks like there will be a caravan of 6 or more rotaries from Atlanta on Saturday morning. Here is the plan repeated from last year.

8:00AM Leave Twisted Tavern( I-85N, Exit 111) parking lot - so arrive with your gas tank topped off and ready to leave by 8:00AM
Stop at Commerce exit off of I-85N for Brett to join the caravan. ONLY a quick stop, should arrive approximately 8:30AM
Drive up I-85North into SC
Exit 1 - Turn Left onto SC 11 ( Cherokee Foothills Scenic Hwy. for 47 miles
Turn Left onto US 178W for 15 miles into NC
Turn Right follow US 178N into Rosman
Turn Right onto US 64E - 8 miles to Brevard, NC
11:00AM We are meeting Tim and the others who drove from Asheville, that want to drive down off the parkway into Brevard for lunch. Also Reese and Nicole driving up from SC are meeting us too.

Let's keep the lunch stop simple...
Wal-Mart parking lot (lower part, near Taco Bell and the Bank)

Wal-Mart is at the intersection of NC 280, US 64, NC 276...

We will do lunch in Brevard. Right near the Bottom of HWY 276 there are several places to eat fast food. We don't all have to eat at the same place, most places are within sight of one another. I am going to pack my lunch. Also you can pick up last minute purchases at the Walmart here too. We can regroup at NOON after everyone has eaten, then head back up to the parkway, maybe make a few stops and enjoy the scenery, and get to Smokemount campsite in Cherokee, NC before 3PM

Holly, assuming we get the baby sitter lined up for Brydon, we should be able to meet up with you guys as you pass through Greenville. If we leave Columbia around 9, we'll be there just before you get there.

That would be me and whoever follows me down 276 from the BRP.

Reese, I don't think we are going to get as far as Greenville before we get off of I-85. I recall 178 or 64 in the directions up to Brevard. But, please meet up with us in Brevard. Tim is going to drive down and meet up with us, we can all get lunch there. I'll get the final route and list of whose in the caravan up here soon.

Reese, you should be able to hook up with Toby and Jamin (hmmm poor choice
of words there, eh?) Anyway they're coming from the same direction.

Jamin has my number in his phone and I have his, so we're set.

I think Jamin has told me he is traveling for work instead of making it to B3R..

That's what he told me as well.

And I still haven't decided if ill go. :lol:
Still haven't put my turbo back on, haven't even put it back together yet.
Then ill want to get back to work on my other 7.

I spoke to Tim t_g_farrell today and he is driving down from the Parkway to meet our Atlanta Caravan the Wal-mart in Brevard, NC where we met up last year. We want to be there at 11:00AM and leave at NOON to head back up to the Parkway, so that we can enjoy the drive, maybe make a few stops, then get to camp to set up. This way we can pick up last minute supplies at the wal-mart, eat lunch if you brought it, or buy lunch in the area.

I need to take a look at the drive again and decide the time we will be leaving Twisted Tavern parking lot. I'm thinking approximately 8am. Details to follow.

I have a nasty cold this week but hopefully it will pass before saturday.

Looks like the weather in Cherokee will be 60s during the day and 30s at night with no rain forecast so far.

Can't wait!
