P/S pulley removal help plz!
well I have been trying to remove the pulley bolt but I tried to clamp it down but the plastic is to brittle and just brakes... I ordered a billet pulley for replacement but am having trouble getting this bolt off... and I cannot get a hold of a the SST the shop manual calls for... any help would be great! :)

You're talking about the center bolt that holds the pulley on right? Have you tried an impact gun? With the impact gun you shouldn't need to hold the pulley while loosening the bolt. That's what I used on the stock pulley before.

I got it off... kept fucking with it and it cracked so I hammered a flathead though it and it split right off lol... O I have a question about the A/C now... my dealership shop manual does not go into a lot of detail about removing these things... how many bolts hold the A/C on? I got 2 long ones off the top but I cant find anymore...

Remove the water pump pulley to find the other bolts and nuts .

The shop manual shows all. Have you even looked at it?
That is where every novice SHOULD start. |

Okay I found out through another source that there are 2 more bolts underneath the ones that I got... have to hoist out the engine a bit to get to them tho...

By any chance have you downloaded the factory service manual yet? If not I would stop where you are. |
The two bolts on the bottom of the AC compressor are the same as the two on the top, so they will not come out completely until you get the engine high enough that the compressor can be pulled to the side. However, you can take off the AC and PS bracket I believe to get it out all the way without lifting the engine at all or removing it, but I don't remember for sure. Either way, it's a PITA haha.
And you don't remove the AC pulley from the compressor, leave it on. It doesn't keep the compressor from coming out. |

I wrapped the belt around the pulley, held it with my left hand and used a socket wrench to remove it. Using an impact gun may have made it easier.
I have the billet pulley you speak of. Make sure it fits properly. Mine needs some slight modification - it cannot go back far enough to line up the belts properly. Not too difficult to fix, but something of an annoyance. |
