can it fit fit in rear iron (stock sender location)
|
looks like factory is a 1/8 BPS and sender 1/8 NPT
|
Yep, Mazda likes to use 1/8" BSPT for their oil pressure senders. It IS NOT the same as 1/8" NPT but adapters are easy to find (McMaster). As far as accuracy goes I'd assume it's accurate enough for whatever use you have in mind considering it is the location Mazda decided to put their unit.

o btw i meant for coolant temp :)
sometimes i type and think my thoughts are coming out onto words on the keyboard lol |
Yes coolant temp sender will thread in the S5 rear iron spot

u can fit their sender o their 1/8 bsp adapter. sender is too long and that adapter might effect reading.
im using and adapter now on the back of wp housing right under ecu thermosensor and the reading can be as far as 20* off, comparing haltech temp reading to prosport gauge |
We are talking about the rear iron water temp location correct? Unless I'm remembering incorrectly I have taken my Prosport temp sender and screwed it into the rear iron water temp location. It screws all the way down without ever catching. My engine is in pieces, next time I'm messing with parts I'll do it again to make sure.

ya i was asking about factory temp sender location in rear iron.
|
^I may need to leave work early today. If that happens I'll check again, but from memory my Prosport threaded onto my S5 rear iron without ever catching or tearing up threads.
|
ya if u can check for me that would be great!
|
and how accurate was it there? my current spot on wp housing and adapter is 15-20* off
