How many of you are interested in buying an event DVD?
OK,
I have a guy in ATL who's interested in making a DVD of the event.. He's a film major and a professional Videographer. He wants to know if there is a market for him to come up and film, direct, and edit. I'm wondering if we have about 75 people willing to pay $15-20 for a DVD. Please let me know.. Otherwise, this might not be possible. |
Phil I speak only for myself and I probably would not be interested. Not meaning to post negative comments, just expressing my intentions as a registered attendee.

I like the idea and think it would nice to show friends where and what I do around this time of the year, like a little documentary of rotards. I'm in for a purchase!

I've been wanting to video document in today's media heavy world... i myself have collected equipments but don't have the time to do so.. And since its hard to determine people's qualification, I thought we try to get someone who can for us. I know we also buy pictures from Killboy and others and thought it might be good way to live your experience at DGRR by a video. Seriously, I need honest input about this...if majority of you are against this, then I don't have to hire or get this caliber person. Phil |
Im interested, you can put me down for one.

My only concern is that it will be edited into an FD-centric video.
Gotta show love for everyone, not just the guys who spend yearly salaries on their cars. Remember this is a Rotary Rally! |
I would be interested in buying a copy if the final product:
1. Is professionally produced & edited, i.e., no herky-jerky camera work, bad sound, etc. 2. Is interesting enough so that the non-rotorhead/non-car person won't get too bored watching after the first few minutes of it. 3. Agree with djmtsu - I don't want to see an FD centric lovefest, but something that captures ALL the rotary machines that show up. Especially the rotary bikes and the various one-off rotary powered creations. 4. It includes more than just video of the cars & rides down the dragon - would be great to capture lots of informal interviews & chats with the attendees, sponsors, and even the local residents/spectators. |

I think it's a cool idea and would buy one BUT care should be taken to avoid capturing dangerous driving since you don't want the event to be associated with such activities. We all know what happens in the real world but discretion should be used in public.

I wouldn't be interested, but I think it's a great idea.

I'd be interested in one. We need to be careful not to include any footage of Kentetsu's famous naked Dragon runs.
|
If it's like Pete said, I'd def be down for one. Vid's of cars rolling in and out, a few runs down the dragon with anticipated/past show winners, informal interviews, hidden camera in cabin 1016 :suspect:
|
".. . ..hidden camera in cabin 1016 :suspect:"
The DVD would then require a parental advisory LOL |

Joking aside, what I was thinking is this.. 1. Main feature about 10-15 mins long encompassing the event itself including surrounding area, some of the drives, etc 2. Interviews with different generation owners to capture about what is great about that car. 3. Show casing specific cars (pending number of generation cars at DGRR).. I mean we have to be fair.. If 200 FD's show and only 15 FCs show, then we need to cover more of FDs... even if some of you think same number of cars should be covered in the video. I think DVD will be about 60-90 mins long total.. I would have to get approximate number will be sold to see if the guy is interested in doing this or not.. If not, oh well... |
