HID's for RCC

I have been into HID lighting for a while now and wanted to give RCC the chance to have them at a pretty good price. I have seen vendors put out kits that sell close to 900!

Here is a sneak peak of what i have came up with.

if i can get interest i will make them.

Is it a high and low beam ? will the stock wiring be heavy enough to power the units ? what is the projected cost ? How difficult is the installation ?

PRICE:I haven't added up my prices yet but i am going to guess for me to make them will be around 650 this will include new housings. I can install these into the OEM housing but the front lens ruins the cutoff. I'm going to see if i can get the parts cheaper if i order in bulk so price might even go down lower.

PROJECTOR:This is a bixenon projector and it uses the fxr lens.

WIRING: The kit will be using an aftermarket relay harness allowing for plug and play so it will be compatible with the existing harness.

INSTALL: The install is pretty straight forward i tried to make something that requires no modification, so far everything is going well. The most difficult part would be routing the relay harness and ballast as there is a lot to it.

here is more pics of the progress: the lights are not aimed i simply bolted them up and my car is up on jack stands.

That reminds me, I gotta pick up TRS's FX-R lenses for my projectors.

I might be interested as long as it has high and low beams.

i will get some better pictures once i get the car off the stands.

what shrouds ya got in mind? As much as I like the fancy ones I think I'm gonna do a simple E55 or GTI for their simplicity and likelihood to have a better visual flow with our type of headlight housings.

turboed13b 08-25-2010 10:50 PM

I'm probably going to stick with e55 as there require no cutting all the others are too tall.

turboed13b 08-26-2010 11:02 PM

I'm hearing a lot of crickets lol. I finished up my prototype i didn't have any new housing's on hand so i had to use my stock ones and had to clear out the front lens but here is what the end product will most likely look!

It looks dam good minus the broken clip ;). I had the same idea on retrofitting an HID setup, just don't have the time to work on one.

That's why i am in for making some at an affordable price not marked up out of the wazoo.

yup but i can make them cheaper :hurray:

For about 650 shipped with new housing's! I never seen a sakebomb unit in person but i would say these are the same or dare i say better quality.

I'm torn over this or an RS engineering kit fuuuuuu.
