rebuilding a motor, something strange?

I noticed there was slight scar on the rotor housing near the exhaust port. but there was nothing broken in the motor. So as i inspected the rotors, they looked fine also. until i checked the apex seal slot. the tops of them have burrs on almost every edge. I know this isnt normal, cause i havnt noticed this before in other builds i have done.

so would filing the burr off ever so slighty be ok?

what might have caused this?

Scars on the rotor housing could be from a chunk of carbon flying around.

Burrs on the apex seal groove?
Some rotors come with machined rotor faces - you'll notice the lines.
This causes the jagged edges on the apex seal grooves...if this is what you're talking about?

just to be a little more clear. this is what i mean by burrs on the apex seal slot. The red indicates where the burrs are. They are exagerated a little in the picture i drew.

and yes, these rotors have the lines, so they might be the machined ones. If this is indeed the case. filing the burr off a bad idea?
