FS: 1987 GSU with 1991 T2 13b engine $1200.00 OBO

Engine: needs new wiring harness. T2 rebuild with 0 miles.

body: good wth small amount of rust in left rear fender.

Hi folks,
Almost 10 yrs ago, my first car was a 1987 RX7. The engine froze on me one day, so I figured it was a good time to swap the 1987 na engine with a 1991 T2 engine. Well, this all happened shortly before I graduated high school and joined the navy. I never got the swap finished because the wiring harness I had wasn't taken off of the previous engine with much care, and I didn't have the money to buy a new one anymore. Now that I'm back home I still don't have the time or money (college & work) to get it running again, and I'm going to have a kid here shortly. SSSOOOO, if any of you guys want an almost running T2 with a 5 speed manual, or need some parts for your na 13b let me know. I also have a rebuilt 4 speed for a T2 13b in storage, as well as the na 13b core.

I will hopefully get some pictures up after this weekend.

Do you mean GTU? Or GTUs? Who built the motor?

djmtsu 01-29-2010 09:54 PM

Its an 87 so it cant be a GTUs.

S4's didn't have anacronym stickers like S5's do, so the only way to know submodels is with options.

engine rebuild

Im not sure. It's been over 6 years since I bought the engine. I think it was some company in Texas. Like a wrecking yard that rebuilt engines from totaled cars

There is no such thing as a "1987 GTU".
The "GTU" model only came in 1988, 1989 - 1990.
It could be possible that someone slapped a "GTU' sticker on your 1987 model...

It could have an '87 build date but be an '88 model. :dunno:
