Motor has been in the car, but this weekend I put on the rest of the exhaust and laid the wiring harness and fuel rails! It has competition motor and tranny mounts, and it looks like the crossbrace is relatively new as the middle bushing is still intact and the brace itself doesn't look very old.

Thanks! yes this has been one of my "ultimate" FCs that if asked what I wanted this would be one of them... black s5 turbo vert "mildly" modified

however, it continues to be my Eleanor as I am in the process of getting screwed on the title. hopefully I shall be victorious!:cuss:

fitness stain 05-13-2009 04:20 PM

that's some lame shit .. i'm sure it'll work out though ...

That Vert had a Turbo motor and tranny in it just before you bought it. It was alot of work to get all that out of the car to find out you bought it and are doing the exact same thing that was done. Too bad you did not buy it with the turbo stuff already in it.
Good luck with the build, it will be nice and worth it when done.

were you the one to take it out?? I did pick it up in spring hill and that had crossed my mind...

I knew him from when he would come into advance and actually gave him advice when he tried to put it in. I actually went over to his house in Mboro and told him everything he needed to do but he just wasn't smart.

I think it was a harness issue. My friend Zach has a new harness for it and will be putting all of it in his NA coupe.
So you were that close to my house and did not holla at me! I see.............. :)

stylEmon 05-21-2009 03:57 PM

I have those same BBS rims. What size are they? Have you got them to fit on the front?

FerociousP 05-21-2009 11:07 PM

they are the exact same size as the stock vert rims... so yes

stylEmon 05-22-2009 01:41 PM

oh, mine aren't exactly like that...
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_AEAL2Ej4Lg...-Image_3_4.jpg

My spokes are a little wider. Mine are 8.5" wide, but I can't seem to find the offset.

djmtsu 05-22-2009 02:02 PM

stylemon, yours look like the ones that came on various Toyotas over the years.

FerociousP 05-06-2010 08:56 AM

WELL.....

After a year of waiting, the legal matters have been worked out and I have the title in hand. The guy who sold it to me will be forced to pay the original owner a specified amount, and the original owner signed a new title over to me.

I sold the Knightsport turbo and bought a stock s5 one as I didn't want to have to buy injectors and some sort of ecu when I didn't know the exact condition of the motor. This is fine as now I can enjoy it with minimal cost and upgrade as necesssary. Yesterday I started the motor for real and it fired up on the first crank and all subequent starts when warm! Hopefully my good luck with the motor will continue as later today I will be bleeding the brakes and taking it for a spin. Pics to come tonight!

IH8DSM 05-06-2010 11:55 AM

awesome mr paul but wont believe you till you let met drive it haha

FerociousP 05-06-2010 09:20 PM

It is an all stock T2 with no emissions but I have the FCD, TID and a HKS bov. Once this get running correctly I will be putting on the FMIC to allow me to keep the stock vert hood, and an RTEK to get rid of the FCD and to have a little more protection with the boost retard, etc. A few pics tonight. vids to come this weekend.

FerociousP 05-07-2010 08:28 AM

yeah it goes pppppssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh

FerociousP 05-07-2010 11:30 PM

I started and idled the motor wendesday, and then started it up and let it run today, then let it sit and this was a hotstart... not bad for the motor sitting since november. My father got a bit overzealous on the revving, but i think it'll be ok. I just wanted a few miles on the car before revving it so high. He was scolded appropriately.

FerociousP 05-20-2010 09:32 AM

Recent updates:

Driving the car revealed a hesitation going into boost so I have been driving it gingerly. Last night we decided to check the timing to find that the leading coil wasn't firing! This was a big suprise as the car drives and idles well (except for boost). I will be trying another coil tonight and hopefully that will fix the hesitation. The wiring looks good and I was getting voltage to the coil itself.

Parts recently added:

750cc RC injectors
Rtek 1.7

**The rtek ordering process went very smoothly and only cost me $165 including shipping to send it to them and get it back. Its reassuring not to have to worry about using a FCD anymore, having the timing retard after 9psi, and other cool things the rtek does for reliability.

FerociousP 06-08-2010 11:41 AM

Added the FMIC and put the rest of the body together. Took it for a drive yesterday and it drove suprisingly well. Boosted fine and had plenty of power. much better than a stock vert. No smoking and NO HOTSTART ISSUES!!! YES! starts every time!

Very Nice!! !

Freaking SWEET Paul! I'm happy to see everything worked out well! Looking forward to seeing her at the next meet, which reminds me that we need to set up another. We should set one up at Rotary Recycle. Jess just got a bitchin deal on a 1st gen too.

FerociousP 06-21-2010 12:01 PM

Passed emissions today! The guy stared at the cat for a while and when I asked him what was up he said that it was glowing red! I gave the appropriate "i dunno" and after I passed I immediately took the hose from the airpump off the exhaust... Apparently that setup was working a little too well... :o11:

For those wondering, I have a 5/8 nipple welded right before the cat that I run heater hose from the airpump outlet directly to the cat, which basically is what is happening anyway stock, just doesn't go through the airpump. The car is a stock block with no emissions equip. It is definitely a temporary solution (rubber hose connected to exhaust), but doesn't melt or get brittle in 2-3 days and driving to and from emissions test. My wideband said 11.1-11.3 at idle during the test at about 1200rpm

Very nice... show some more pics of the FMIC :)

FerociousP 06-21-2010 02:20 PM

Ask and ye shall receive... I'm pretty dissapointed with the fitment but I still think its better than the topmount and I get to keep my vert hood. Half of the IC is in the bumper, and the bumper was pretty hacked up BEFORE I got it (see the gap in the undertray to the bumper), but all in all it is functional and doesn't get hot during normal driving at 95+ weather.

I'll take more from under the hood later

Still though.. I think it looks good. I like that you went black with it too.. keeps it nice and "quiet"...

Haven't updated in quite a while... almost a year! I've made a few changes and will be making a new thread soon, but I'm bored at work and thought I'd take a pic of my latest addition. Rx-8 black leather seats. Driver's side is power, both are heated.
