DGRR 2008... a record year!!

I just tallied up the numbers and as of now we have well over 100 people signed up! And we still have another 45+ days to go!!

Also, Nantahala told me that less than 10 lodge/cabin/house are left... Which means, we have the place all to ourselves!! No more Porsche drunk drivers, frat boys, etc etc..

djmtsu 02-20-2008 12:49 PM

Hey now........I was a frat boy!!!

This year is going to be fantastic.

banzaitoyota 02-21-2008 07:41 PM

Do they have a lift and tow service though?

djmtsu 02-23-2008 05:01 PM

And Charles' REPU blew a coolant line and toasted the engine.

Although from the pics I've seen lately, you should tow the truck with the FC.

Lol

fikren 02-23-2008 08:00 PM

I think someone posted in one of the other forums that they were bringing a pretty stout truck for towing purposes if it was needed.

banzaitoyota 02-23-2008 08:50 PM

IF the new mystery acquisition goes thru as planned, I will be towing it up with the BEAST.

A butt ugly 92 Dodge Cummins Turbo-diesel from hell

BTW, Thanks to a bunch of great rotorheads, we changed the clutch in the deuce and I drove it home Sunday!

dregg100 02-24-2008 12:09 AM

do i know about this mistery aquisition, or is it yet another sweet ass car that will sit behind you house forever?

djmtsu 02-24-2008 09:36 AM

I know Chad (fire85GSL-SE) is brining his Duramax and trailer.

You would rather they were in the junkyard?

djmtsu 02-24-2008 02:27 PM

This man is wise!!

David Jerome 02-24-2008 10:22 PM

In case anything major was to happen I live about 35 mins from the dragon and can help with anything needed. Towing or tools are just a 35 mins drive away.

WE3RX7 02-25-2008 03:31 PM

I'm having my girlfriend drive down in my 8 as backup if the GSL-SE leaves me stranded. If you see a gray GSL-SE on the side of the road - it's for sale :)

zonblitz 02-25-2008 04:12 PM

That's still scary... an 8 is the backup!

WE3RX7 02-26-2008 01:26 PM

Ha - I figured you'd think its scary that I let my GF drive it that far :)

She actually only has 1 mile commute to work each day, so I let her drive that one to keep the mileage down. It's an '04 w/ 33K on the clock... I think/HOPE it'll make the trip just fine... if not, I've got an REW I can swap into it :)

Herblenny 02-26-2008 02:02 PM

Kevin, what do you use for pre-mix? I might have to start doing that:) I'm now having little bit of issues with my 8:(

spankle my wankle 02-26-2008 04:34 PM

+1 for my first gen being for sale if it breaks to!

fikren 02-26-2008 04:44 PM

"welcome to DGRR, please enjoy the cruises friday and saturday be sure to stick around sunday for the broke down car sale."

Herblenny 02-26-2008 11:23 PM

Thanks Kevin! I'm going to pick up a gallon and start pre mixing.. I did notice its starting to idle bit rough and I had some issues during my trip to New Orleans.

hahaha i wonder who will sponsor that event....phil can take care of that!

WE3RX7 02-27-2008 03:28 PM

You would think after 40 years of rotary engineering in cars, Mazda could get a decent premix system in these cars!

I hadn't started premixing the 8 (bought it used about a month ago)... but perhaps I should start. I premix all the other ones, its only fair!

That probably was me. I will have my 18ft flatbed trailer.
First time I took it to deals gap a few rotor heads liked hearing the turbo
coming from my hood puling the rex thru the gap. Now it is lifted, I will be a bit slower in the curves but the duramax runs hard for a big truck.

fire85gslse 03-01-2008 09:14 PM

I too premix when I can remember to fill the bottle up. it does seem to help on all my rotaries.
And like Kevin said make sure it says "tc-3" on the bottle.

Pourman 03-02-2008 01:21 PM

I used Pettit's Pro-Tek R in the FD for a while back when it was still stock ... maybe that's why the first motor went 124K miles before cracking an Apex seal ... i thought about trailering my car up there this year , but I REALLY want to road trip in the FD :driving: ... David , good to know you live so close to the Dragon , in case something goes wrong with the car  ... BTW , will each day be filled by events , or will there be any time to do anything AT the Village ??

NO...you must not touch anything, you must show up at the scheduled times, you must check in every 30 mins with an event supervisor, you must not talk to anyone, and lights out are at 9:30pm with a 6am wake up.

Actually I think Phil has some things lined up but I do believe there will be ample time to do some things on your own if you want. (if theres not the wife is going to beat me :beatdeadhorse5:)

Pourman 03-03-2008 10:52 AM

I just didn't want to miss out on anything if I chose to do something else during one of the days ... I'm going up a day early too , so I can help Phil out ... maybe I can explore then :) ... I'm bringing my Sector 9 and Flowboard too

classicauto 03-04-2008 06:19 PM

I'm effin' excited.

Real effin' excited.

Turbo II 03-05-2008 12:23 AM

I hope so too... Hopefully coming up day early will help!

Also, I'm buying 10 large Pizzas and 3 pitchers of beer on Thursday night.. My treat!! (yes, there is a reason... I'm going to make your ass work at the event next day:)).

I'm upgrading some of the stuff on the car and will be testing it out at the Gap:) Oh, Exedy guys are also coming up day early So, some of you can have one on one conversation about clutches. They are super cool dudes!

I can't eat 10 pizzas but 3 pitchers of beer should be no problem!

That's what I did last year. Spent Thursday getting use to the new setup. Was different from what I had the year before and really helped.

85rx-7gsl-se 03-05-2008 01:40 PM

This year will take some driving adjustment for me....Last year, I was in the Red 90 Miata, bone stock, but with 45k miles, drove like a new Miata.......
This year, GSL-SE Turbo with worn stock suspension and body roll from hell :D

Turbo II 03-05-2008 01:54 PM

I took the Vert the first year, the Turbo the last 2 years. Having an extra day the last 2 years for me just to get use to the difference in cars and changes I made really helped. Plus having some extra "clear traffic" driving time was fun.

85rx-7gsl-se 03-05-2008 01:55 PM

I won't be going up till Friday. Our Mid Tenn caravan is just too much fun to pass up :D

Turbo II 03-05-2008 02:04 PM

We did that the first two years from here. Was a blast!

Pourman 03-05-2008 07:23 PM

I'll be there a day early too Phil ... put me to work ...

RXtacy 03-05-2008 08:02 PM

Man I wish this was a few weeks later. I'll make it one year.

sevensheaven 03-06-2008 08:56 PM

I want to come early and help too, not sure as a friend want to leave Friday. Too much invested to not come early!

I can already picture Phil with a whip in his hand while some guy is beating a steady work rythem on a pair of drums.

Pourman 03-07-2008 11:35 AM

I play Drums :)
