FB picture thread!!
I will start with my old 1982 S model. I never should have sold it. At least the guy who bought it in KY still drives it everyday. It has to have 200K plus, since I sold it with 186k+ on the original engine.
I got it from a local 7 guy, who was given the car by a co-worker in exchange for some work on a Mustang. I bought it for $600 'non-running'. He never tried to get it running. It was towed there, he cranked it, nothing, and then sold it to me. The original owner let it sit for over a year because one day it would not start. I replaces a 30 cent fuse and it fired right up, but smoked BAD. The oil control rings had dried up a bit. Then I rebuilt the carb, and got the floats adjusted wrong, which caused it to flood BAD. This washed the oil seals even worse, and it smoked more. So, I got the carb set perfect, ran some 'motor honey' in it with 20w50, changing the oil every 500 miles. After 3 changes, and 2 sets of plugs, it ran PERFECT, and didn't smoke a puff. A bonus was it had a full old school RB exhaust system with no cat. I took all the emissions off, mechanical secondaries, and thats about it. She absolutely SCREAMED!!! I miss her dearly and should have never sold it. Enjoy. http://lh5.google.com/djmtsu/R7oT5zq...0/DSC00411.JPG http://lh6.google.com/djmtsu/R7oT6Dq...0/DSC00414.JPG http://lh3.google.com/djmtsu/R7oT6Tq...0/DSC00410.JPG http://lh4.google.com/djmtsu/R7oT6jq...0/DSC00492.JPG http://lh6.google.com/djmtsu/R7oT7Dq...0/DSC00493.JPG http://lh4.google.com/djmtsu/R7oT7jq...0/DSC00489.JPG http://lh5.google.com/djmtsu/R7oT7zq...0/DSC00477.JPG |

Some pics of my baby. She's an 84 GS with 62k original miles on her. Everything is original still. I spent $3k on her.
The original owner had bought it for his son's 16th birthday, but his son was an ungrateful moron and wanted a Mustang instead. The owner's response? "I ain't buying you a Mustang. Good luck buying one." The car then sat in his garage for most of its life before I bought it. He took proper care of it, drove it once a week and had regular maintenance done on it. His ride was an 84 GSL-LE. :) She's had a long journey from Pennsylvania to Virginia, and now from Virginia to Florida. But she has good company with my RX-8 in the garage. :) |
Damn that's clean! What an ungrateful shithead that kid was. Sheesh. Worked out for you though haha.

My turbo 84 SE :D http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k8...349B6A8E43.jpg . |
I'd post a pic of mine up here but its not an FB its an SA. Oh well.
|
Semantics....

Close enough  . |
Not even close. Everyone knows the SA is the best and lightest of the 1st gens. FBs were
just tortured animals subjected to bean counter efficiencies which resulted in over heating (beehive oil cooler anyone?), easily damaged, ugly bumpers, and cheaper, uglier interiors. Yeah, I'm not biased at all :D |
