Looking good buddy...Your the first person I've seen go from a S5 trim to a S4. Any particular reason why? Either way more props to ya rockin' the S4 trim.

Phoenix7 10-11-2008 06:52 PM

i was wondering the same thing.

SouthSideSlider 10-11-2008 10:18 PM

i actually like the S4 stuff plus S5 stuff is worth some pretty coin. oh BTW i just scored a free set of Acura TL wheels and a set of sleeve coilovers for $40 so its on its way.

Phoenix7 10-11-2008 10:31 PM

damn, that's cheap. What year Acura?

SouthSideSlider 10-12-2008 06:05 PM

my $40 sleeve coilovers

not my TL wheels but the same kind.

rotorhead87 10-12-2008 06:47 PM

Do you know if those coil over sleeves do anything for the car's overall handling? I hate to ask. All I've heard about those are that they're about only good for adjusting the height of the car and every adjustment messes with the alignment. :dunno:

SouthSideSlider 10-12-2008 07:15 PM

you can get different spring rates for them just like regular coilovers and with a set of nice shocks can be realy good. personnally im looking into tokico shocks. basiclly for now i will run these and eventually get real coilovers but i couldn't pass up these for the price.

rotorhead87 10-13-2008 07:22 AM

I getcha whatever works for you. It hard to get what you want when the pockets are running on the shallow side lol.

yea i would love to hae better stuff but my pockets are shollow like a kiddy pool. LOL. i still want to get a helicopter jet motor and put it in my 87. that would own all.

Phoenix7 10-13-2008 03:13 PM

well, make sure you work on maintenance first and foremost. You can buy coil-overs and all these frivolous things for CHEAP but it won't help you get to work or school. Make sure the car runs perfect and you maintain it. The rest can be done slowly.

SouthSideSlider 10-13-2008 04:13 PM

yea she runns good has a coolant leak i just cant find but other then that she runs extremely well for a 194,406mile car. and yes i was watching a show with Jay leno's jet bike when i made the jet powered 87 FC comment. lol

rotorhead87 10-13-2008 05:51 PM

194,406 miles on a her....amazing

SouthSideSlider 10-13-2008 06:38 PM

yea orriginal and unrebilt with 194,406 miles. it spent about 185,XXX miles of its life as a automatic.

SouthSideSlider 10-19-2008 11:06 AM

sad news. those coilovers wont fit the car but i already have a buy for $50.

SouthSideSlider 10-30-2008 05:54 AM

yea i figure i'll run on the volvo project (Mizuki) till she is done or till Salina's motor goes pop.

SouthSideSlider 05-30-2009 07:19 PM

well guys i've decided Salina is getting a modifyed volvo T5 motor. right now i have a B5244S that got from my lil bros 93 850 GLT which is the N/A model sadly the block is about .150 out of spec so i will be getting darton MID sleeves a GT2871R or GT28RS i'll get pics of the motor when i find my camera now is the biuld of the motor/tranni then i'll start DD mizuki when i am ready to swap the T5 in/

se ticked over 198,900 yesterday she now has a S4 waterpump, thermostate, and thermostat housing(my old S5 exploded will post vid later

JShiz 06-01-2009 01:01 AM

that'll be different

TitaniumTT 06-01-2009 09:47 AM

Buy a real HVLP gun

Max777 06-02-2009 07:52 AM

HVLP? The internetz says that gravity fed is better. Since I dont know shit other than that, can you please elaborate?

TitaniumTT 06-02-2009 08:40 AM

Gravity fed is "better" but that really doesn't have squat to do with HVLP..... and I hope Classic chimes in here.

You can actually use a gravity fed updside down with a vacuum bag inside the container, but that's irrelevant for the purpose of my comment.

HVLP means High Volume Low Pressure. I said buy a real gun becuase the ones he bought are crap. I've used crap guns, and they piss me off. I've used expensive guns and they are more consistant, the adjustments actually adjust shit, and they just work better. Got to an online retailer and look at the price of some of the higher end guns, the name brand guns, Sharpe, Devilbiss, Sata, etc etc etc. They are starting @ $200 for the low end models and run upto $500, not $50 from Horror Freight. There is a reason for this.

SouthSideSlider 06-02-2009 09:11 AM

ummmm i'm not complaining about the guns cause i got then Free. now if i ever do get around to painting my car i will get much better guns

TitaniumTT 06-02-2009 11:33 PM

If you're not painting a car................ why post pics of spray guns? Oh wait, you're painting your friends car.

Call me an old grumpy asshole, but I would rather throw shit tools away and spend the money than be pissed off at free tools.

Fidelity101 06-03-2009 01:43 AM

reminds me of my white fc

SouthSideSlider 06-06-2009 01:42 PM

bad new guys the motor i got was bad so i'm taking it back to LKQ tommarrow and will have to wait awhile to get another motor i think i might skip the middleman next time and just buy a T5 yea we still havent painte my freinds car and i doubt when we do we will use that gun

SouthSideSlider 12-30-2009 02:46 AM

lol back from the dead. to die again.

BAD NEWS: sadly guys she died on me. finally blew a colant seal at 207K miles

GOOD NEWS: i have bought another RX-7 this time a 86 non sunroof model.

i also bought a wood steeringwheel, tokico blues,Ground control coilover sleeves.
oh and a Holset HX35 external wastegate type for my motor biuld.
