Infini leg rest pads?

i have seen these before and i have no idea if they are an optional item or not. But does anyone have pictures of them installed or where they are located?

SpooledupRacing 10-06-2008 11:30 AM

I would love to find some mintys for my build.

Whizbang 10-06-2008 11:30 AM

now the question is how are they held on.. is it part of the door panel or do they clip, screw or velcro on?

djmtsu 10-06-2008 11:43 AM

Screw the pads, gimme the seats!!

SpooledupRacing 10-06-2008 11:46 AM

the pads are a neat touch though.. so is the passenger foot bar..

I do like the seats but I dont know if they would be good for "holding u in"

Whizbang 10-06-2008 09:29 PM

would anyone be interested in a NEW replicaish pad meant for US cars?

SpooledupRacing 10-06-2008 09:41 PM

I would show me a pic and let me see what u have in mind. but yes.

WE3RX7 10-06-2008 10:06 PM

As long as they clear door bars and the front legs of a cage, i'm good, lol..

i have been prototyping a few ideas. i am going to start testing and building some models in the coming weeks. Mostly trying to find the perfect points to have a pad while driving. Give me about two weeks for some rough drafts so to speak.

SpooledupRacing 10-07-2008 05:14 AM

sounds good u got my ears perked!

13bt 10-07-2008 04:18 PM

ill keep an eye on this post. this seems interesting.

Flooder 10-07-2008 07:52 PM

Yah, hurry up and make some of these, I'll buy some.

Whizbang 10-07-2008 10:22 PM

the mounting for the door panel one will require the drilling of your door card to accept the mounting studs. The first versions will be for cars with the "pockets" on the doors. I may produce another version for those without.

SpooledupRacing 10-08-2008 05:24 AM

Ill have to check but being a base I don't think I have any "pockets"

Whizbang 10-08-2008 08:26 AM

ill look at the junkyard for a door car without the pocket. The foam will have to be thicker BUT the pad will be larger which i see as a benefiet.

Flooder 10-08-2008 06:35 PM

Yah, I have a GTUs and it doesn't have the map pockets on the door panels.

Whizbang 10-08-2008 07:05 PM

hmm well maybe ill do the non map pocket door first

Whizbang 10-09-2008 11:28 PM

if ANYONE knows of a picture of the back side of the pad, i would greatly appreciate it

Whizbang 10-11-2008 02:24 AM

i acquired a non map pocket door card with the crank windows. I am hoping to see if i can make this work with the crank windows as well as power.

SpooledupRacing 10-11-2008 05:09 AM

Oh Oh Oh ... Saweet :)

Whizbang 10-13-2008 04:49 PM

the prototype for the map pocket model is done. The center console prototype pad is also done and are being tested in my car. Once i am satisfied ill start making the first prototype in the actual materials.

And the crank window, non map pocket seems like it might be working out as well!

My driving impressions with just the real rough rough model i seem to like it. I am going off my own thickness, firmness, size and contact area. Plus i ensured that even my 5'1" fiancee with the seat almost all the way up can still sit without the seat hitting the pad.

And with my 6'1" self, it should cover a good spread of people!

RotaryXperiment 10-13-2008 04:51 PM

oo0o0o. care to show some pics ;)

Whizbang 10-13-2008 04:55 PM

ill be posting pictures of the prototypes made from the materials im using. The current ones are a constant cut and refit mess since i have been making small changes.

RotaryXperiment 10-13-2008 07:00 PM

ah ok cool
