This is probably a stupid question...

But I'm looking to see if it's at all feasible for me to come to this.

I need to mapquest directions, where exactly is this place?

85rx-7gsl-se 03-01-2008 03:37 PM

Its located in Deal's Gap, NC...Its right on the TN/NC border.

85rx-7gsl-se 03-01-2008 03:54 PM

My bad, Mapquest doesn't list Deal's Gap. This the closest town I could get directions for, Fontana Dam...

Here is the Mapquest directions from Rhode Island to Fontana Dam....

Alright, from my house, it's 16 hours, 955 miles.

Would the 'vert make it.... hmmmmmmmm....

$100T2 03-01-2008 04:57 PM

Alright, we're going to try to make it. We're going over our schedule tonight to see if we can make it work.

85rx-7gsl-se 03-01-2008 05:13 PM

That would be awesome, we can always use some more FBs :D

LOL. The FB wouldn't be coming, the 'vert would be.

85rx-7gsl-se 03-01-2008 06:42 PM

Ah, thats still cool :) Verts are nice, if I get another FC, it will an vert. I'd love to build a turbo widebody vert :D

Turbo II 03-01-2008 06:51 PM

I took my stock Vert up there the first year and had a blast with it. Surprised the hell out of a lot of people with what the old car could do hah!

$100T2 03-01-2008 07:00 PM

It would be fun to drive down there with the top down... Hell, it will be nice just to take her out of storage... Haven't driven her since November.

fikren 03-02-2008 01:29 AM

Won't find much of a better reason than DGRR to get you to dust the moth balls off and give her some air.

$100T2 03-02-2008 08:18 PM

And we can't go this year.

My GFs work schedule is seriously fucked up, and she won't be able to get time off around that weekend.

That sucks.

85rx-7gsl-se 03-02-2008 08:19 PM

Thats a shame man, was really hoping to get to me ya :(

Turbo II 03-02-2008 10:21 PM

Damn man sorry. I also was looking forward to meeting you.

WE3RX7 03-03-2008 12:24 PM

Bah - who needs a job right?

There is always next year, and I'm in VA - so you can meet up with us anytime you need to caravan down...

$100T2 03-04-2008 06:04 PM

Well hopefully next year, the whole family will make a weekend of it with two rotary powered vehicles.

classicauto 03-04-2008 06:20 PM

Good plan.

That'd be a hell of a cruise, I thought the 10ish hour journey was a test!!

Although to be fair, we're planning on continuing to the Key's afterwards..... :)

Herblenny 03-04-2008 07:23 PM

Kevin,

Sorry you can't make it.. It should be a load of fun! I'll take some pics for you to vicariously live thru some of us.. Hopefully next year!

KaiFD3S 03-05-2008 03:36 PM

Daym it's like over 2,000 miles and will take about 32 hours to get there from Cali....Guess I know where to spend my 2 week vacation next year...lol...

My buddy built a Turbo Del Sol, but he didn't get to keep it long as he got married a year later and sold the car. There is also another kid here in town that has a nice blue Del Sol with a GSX style wing, CF hood, and a Turbo'ed B18. I plan on giving him a run once my 7 is back up :D

Terrh 03-08-2008 12:48 PM

the only thing I hate about FC verts is that they always seem to leak (and verts in general really)

both of my turboverts had a somewhat leaky top.

Yeah, mine leaks too, even with a brand new top. I think the driver's side window is misaligned. I'm going to take it to my local bodyshop when I get it out of storage and see what they can do with it.

Turbo II 03-09-2008 03:52 PM

Ditto guys. That and leaving the top down once or twice and coming back to a car full of water... oops.

Nutsid 04-01-2008 05:07 PM

You guys are making me want a vert now. Why is it that it never feels like two rotaries are ever enough?

Pink Flea 04-01-2008 07:58 PM

^ Becasue its not.. LOL... Im having inner termoil over bringing the FC or the RX8... The is at the bodyshop getting repainted etc so it looks like the FC may be the winner... My heart just insnt in it as much knowing I wont get to drive the 8 though.
