What do you think about these wheels?
I saw some pics of a member's car on the evil forum, and I really liked these wheels, but at the same time, I want to hear other people's opinion on them.
The wheels are Xxr 002's in a 16x8 size with ) offset. Here's the price: http://edgeracing.com/wheel/7724/ and here's pics: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y19...Picture009.jpg and this one is my intial reason: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y199/dentz55/RX-7.jpg http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/3820/img5807pt9.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y19...cture002-4.jpg I'm also wanting a set of these wheels too, but they are HARD to find im my area, and I dont have the $$$ whenever I see some. They are also 16x8 mesh wheels. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g1...8/CIMG0284.jpg http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g1...IMG_0290-1.jpg |
From what I can tell, go with the meshies. However, a nice side shot would be good. I'm also a fan of mesh wheels like those, so I may be a bit biased. :D
The first look new/fresh/racy.
The last look old/too busy/plain. My 83 had meshies but the middle was black with the rims polished AL. They were hard to keep clean. Go modern. |
I like it!
too much like the wannabes (wantanabes). Not a fan. Get them if you like them though.
Also, WTF is up with the skinny-ass tires on the wannabe-like wheels?? They don't look like they're 16x8s to me.
yah those would be sportmax wheels, which are all over ebay, as well as 240s hachis, and hondas. i think they still look good tho
hey that second car is maxpayne's car I think he might be selling those rims now he got some new ones before sevenstock if your still looking I'd ask him about them.
I think I might need to rebuild my engine so I dunno.
Nah man, keep the stock lightweight BBS meshies!
Here are mine without center caps and with 225/50/15's. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_OFjbTkyhkOs/SA...800/dgrr16.gif From the back. Look wider than the rubber on those first pics. http://lh4.ggpht.com/_OFjbTkyhkOs/SA...s800/dgrr9.gif |
looks good...you can find nice grippy tires in 15" forms and it's cheaper per tire. Keep them for a spare set of track rims or something.
at first I like the first style... and second glance naaaa...
meshies are great.. I wish I would have kept my bbs off my vert before I sold it. |
Eh, I'm not a big fan of wantanabe style wheels. But if you're looking for a good deal on them I can hook you up.
The ones in the first pics look best
It's Watanabe.
I like it!! I been looking for something like that for my old school rotary :)
By the way.. The first set.. |
i dig the first pic. what is the offset though?
Didn't see this one haha, my old wheels are on my brother's car now. They were 16x7 and 16x8 SSR Reverse Mesh. They aren't common, but they do show up on rbmotoring or memoryfab now and then. My choice would be 17x8 or 9's SSR Reverse/Formula Mesh!.
As far as the Sportmax wheels, they are 16x8 0" offest, running 205/50/16 tires. This is a hipari stretch setup for drift, kinda stupid, yes, but it works for some people....
I think that I will just get some street tires for the BBS meshies, and get RPF1's or REAL Watanabes in 114.3x5 bolt pattern, lol. (I dunno why all the hate on the real deal through, I love em.) |
those mesh wheels are sick. i want some. bbs vert wheels ftw. just to small. perfect track wheels though
I think one of my buddies was selling a set of real watanabes in FC fitment for around 500-600 bucks pre-owned.
Yeah, I talked to a guy about them on 7club a while back, it was the ONLY 114.3x5 set of watanabes that I ever saw.
To be honest, I like the 8 spokes because of way back when I was a kid watching initial D, lol. The ae-86 had those rims, but I liked the FC more. |
