Will vouche for Rice (not that he needs any support or bumping), dude is seriously well beyond his time. That ECU. . . . wow. . . even at that price, it's a literal steal.
Let me know if you ever have a spare F88, that's more in-line with my wallet (and will be my next ECU) ;) ;) ;) |

These ones I got (Pectel) people would gag if they knew the price :reddevil: I also have the full pectel software suite to go with this ECU (personality included), and can also supply the Auto Sport connectors so you can make your loom if needed :dunno: all manuals printed in color and bound in ring loops too, the full package :fawk: Beyond my time? not sure about that, but I like to do it, rather than talk about it HC style lol.......... I wonder if a Haltech E6GAY screen dump would be enough though???? BDC style yo! :302: |

The data logging software in pro version (which I can supply with this ecu) make a motec look like a microwreck lol. |
More stuff about what it can do and a good write up by Eric Hsu of Cosworth USA
http://photos.motoiq.com/MotoIQ/Colu.../Toolbox-L.jpg "Sonny was also trained in the art of Toolbox which is a massively configurable data analysis tool. This is just a screenshot of a workbook (template) that I use after a pass on a chassis dyno or power test on the engine dyno. With the right inputs, Toolbox can draw track maps, do spatial x/y graphs, bar graphs, min/max charts, or virtually anything else you'd want to help you analyze data." http://www.motoiq.com/magazine_artic...ack-evo-8.aspx Engine map pictured below off this well known time attack EVO running baby SQ6 ECU http://photos.motoiq.com/MotoIQ/Colu.../Caltool-L.jpg "Pi Caltool is the Windows based calibration software for the ECPro series of ECUs. It is features fully configurable workbooks (templates) with many different types of displays. Originally designed for Ford for F1, WRC, and OEM ECU calibration in late 90's, it has evolved into the powerful software it is today." NOTE: My MQ12 is a F1 spec ECU!!!! :) "To become a Cosworth E-Pro dealer (no relation to Beck’s CD name), a dealer needs to send their tuner and/or data guy, to our facilities in Torrance, CA for a whole day training session. E-Pro dealers have the ability to sell Cosworth ECPro ECUs and dashes. The training class covers the ECU, dash, and the software suite that consists of Pi Caltool, Pi Toolbox, and Pectel EOT. Primarily the day of training concentrates on the software since its the most complex part. Most potential dealers have a difficult time comprehending why they need training, but what they almost always don’t understand is that the Cosworth ECUs are very similar to the Cosworth ECUs used in F1, WRC, LeMans, Super GT, and many other forms of motorsport. To be able to handle engines of this caliber, the Cosworth ECUs have over 8800 parameters and maps that control strategies based strictly on engineering principles and math. On top of these 8800 parameters and maps, there is a fully configurable 4MB internal datalogging side of the ECU that is capable of 2000Hz total bandwidth with individual parameters logged as fast as 1000Hz. With an optional card logger, data logging can can be upgraded to as much as 8000Hz and as many gigabytes as are available on a Compact Flash card. The data analysis software, Pi Toolbox, is currently used in just about all forms of professional motorsport: F1, NASCAR, WRC, LeMans, SuperGT, Grand Am, ALMS, etc. so you can imagine its capabilities and its associated complexity. Add all of this to the fact that there isn't any true documentation and one can see why a day of training would be the very least necessary to get somebody who is used to tuner grade ECUs to understand the basics of the Cosworth system. It took me asking Roland, Ben, Mark, and Steve at Cosworth Electronics several thousand questions and probably about six months of daily use for me to truly understand and be able to utilize all of its capabilities." http://www.motoiq.com/magazine_artic...e-on-dyno.aspx SQ6m bigger baby on an idy car V8 turbo http://www.motoiq.com/magazine_artic...e-on-dyno.aspx nice video inside More on the Sierra Sierra EVO running Pectel ECU http://www.motoiq.com/magazine_artic...ttack-evo.aspx |

Too many useless kuuunts on egay!
This ECU is complete with ALL SOFTWARE REQUIRED!!!! Pectel Off Load Tool Pectel ECU Monitor Pi Caltool V3.5 & V3.4 Pi Toolbox V6.1 All valid metafiles and external customer personalities included I have also decided to include a 20B rotary engine map and a custom RR 13B Turbo engine mapped up to 4.8bar pressure and 9600rpm, with EVERYTHING configured correctly! It comes with a spare data Ethernet cable (no UTC con required!) and power harness for out of car configuration. It is a ridiculously good piece of gear, and very cheap!, they retail for over $13,500US (if you can get one at that price!). |

Peter, this looks like an INCREDIBLE ecu!!! It's just way too rich for my blood and well outside of how I'd actually use my car. I'm thinking I'll have to settle for a Syvecs S8 and even that will be severely pushing the envelope for how much is realistic to spend on an ECU :( If only I were filthy rich... :sifone: |
Quote:
This ecu is pretty good (well yeah it is one of the best ever if I am fair dinkum!) ...... the F88 in Life Racing (or S8 in Syvecs) is best value though, these kuuuntts are too expensive for most people, but its a full control unit with a shit load of control options. Nice thing about this one is its full Autosport connectors, lots of options for control strategies, no shortage of inputs or outputs, and the control software appeals to people compared to the DOS feel of the old DESCproW and Syvecs/Life Racing off shoots (which was started by ex Pectel employees ...... you can tell that when you look at the old Pectel software. I've got a potential customer in Dubai which means a few of you can retain you internal organs for now :) p.s. Lot's of dreamers talk about these products but never really use one, I can't do it justice in a single post as to the complexity that is available here and level of understanding required to use one of these properly to capacity, but if you are keen and want the best then these make a nice step up from the hobby hack toys others use and gag over. |
NLFS as is going onto a project with this ICD dash and DB-1 RSHE logger !
|
was a waste of time anyways, at least trying to sell to a FD owner. i've only seen a small handful of FDs that were worthy of a $10k ECU and most of those aren't checking around here for parts.
|
Quote:
Agree though 99.9% of FD owners are incapable of using let alone affording such items  If you add up the ICD, DB1-RSHE, pro Toolbox, MQ-12, other software it's $22,500USD :willy_nilly: then you have to fit it all up, sensor it, program it, good luck getting change from $40,000USD paying some kuuuunt to do it for you :o10: sure no FD owners would be in the market :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: |
Quote:
$14K? Wicked, that's a tad under what I think I have into my FD currently... (Proving am earlier stated points) How many sensors can this have for input? What about output triggers? J. |
Quote:
Outputs fuck loads! Its a very good system, the dash is the best around! |
