Rotary-engine Compression Tester Systems www.rotarydiagnostics.com
I would like to thank Larry at Rotary Diagnostics Systems for his support of RCC! His contribution will go towards the continued promotion of this forum.
Check out his website www.RotaryDiagnostics.com and feel free to post questions for more information on his Rotary-engine Compression Tester Systems. Thank you! :icon_tup: Our Rotary-engine Compression Testers combine off-the-shelf hardware and software to create a reliable system that can be used to obtain accurate engine compression measurements from a rotary engine. http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1279105164 Figure 1. Model ReCT-TRT, Two-rotor Compression Tester System. The Processing Unit includes an enclosure containing the analog-to-digital converter, DIN data sockets for 2 Acquisition Units, plus the power and data connections. Power and USB cables, as well as the programs CD are a part of the Processing Unit. The Processing Unit receives analog signals from the Acquisition Units during a compression test and converts them to a digital data stream for transmission to the computer for recording and later display and analysis. The Acquisition Units consist of precision pressure transducers with attached 30" cable and DIN connector, a spark plug hole adapter with swivel air plug, and a quick coupler fitting for easy connection of the components. |

Anyone have an experience using this product?
|
I have had one for 4 years...works well....It is much more complex than the Mazda tester to use the first time..but after you have done it it is quite easy
It also gives you more data than the Mazda tester... |
$640 ... no thanks. And $225 for a software upgrade in sampling rate? Alrighty then Motec.
If the two rotor system was reasonably priced, I would have already purchased one. |

The other systems we offer are intended primarily for engine builders and rotary shops where a higher resolution sampling rate provides detailed analysis of the compression pulses and where the presentation format of the data to their customers may be critical. Of course, we sell those system to individuals as well. There, now I feel better.:) Larry Roberts Rotary Diagnostic Systems |
I appreciate your very professional response to my post which was in poor taste. My apologies. I guess I'm just a cheapskate.

LOL...try and buy a Mazda one....even the $640 price looks like a steal then ;)
|
Well ya know, that could be why Mazda Australia opted to adopt our basic system for 60 of their dealerships. Ya think?:)

Thread revival.
Thanks Lance, I bought your basic tester back in 08 or somewhere around there. Lots of bleedy knuckles later I just performed the 50th compression test for yet another happy customer. Over the years ive sampled quite a lot of charts, heres a select few for your promotional viewing pleasure. First one is a 20B front chamber releasing its carbon grip on an Apex seal. Second is a 12A race engine coming out of a one year hibernation (slow starter) Third is a well build one rotor NSU Spider Nextmonth im off to the Danish RX club track meeting, where your brilliant tester once again will be on duty. BTW is there an easier way to send the chart to my customers than "print screen & ms-paint" :-) Best REgards Kim Kjersgaard - satisfied customer |
Good to hear you are putting the tester to good use. 50--Wow. You purchased the tester in June 2009, BTW.:)
"BTW is there an easier way to send the chart to my customers than "print screen & ms-paint" Yes, you can email them the ".WDQ" file and have them download and install the WinDaq Waveform Browser software. No charge for that. (http://www.dataq.com/support/upgrades/playback/). Click on the download for the basic version 2.91 at the far left of the page. Keep in mind, however, they can modify the display settings in the browser so you may get calls asking about some weird display they have configured, accidently or otherwise. Larry PS: Would you email me the 3 images you posted? They may help me diagnose a customers problem in the future. Thanks! |
