L8r Jeremy |
me and a buddy that went up last yr will also be heading up on thurs. i've already registered and we got the cabin booked at nantahala village. this is going to be soooo awesome.
|
Jeremy, can you lead them back down to the Mitty Sunday?
Us really "OG" would love to have a rotary invasion on Sunday at the Mitty. |
t_g_farrell, I understand you are attending Mitty vs. DGRR... And I am trying to make this happen so that some of us could come down there on Sunday. Please try to understand that this is DGRR thread and DGRR section. If I started posting about DGRR on Mitty section on Mitty forum, I'm sure someone will say something....
|
Phil, I PMed you.
Jeremy, Kristy and I will be leaving on Thursday to drive up to DGRRXI. So we have 3 cars in the caravan so far. Plus I think Kevin is driving up then too, if he gets the time off. Holly |

Which way are u planning on taking? I talked to Phil and John about meeting up w/ them on Thursday in Chattanooga on their way 2 DGRR (not the quickest / shortest way for me but...)
Rodney |
i guess more the merrier. I am cool with which ever routes we take. The caravan is actually more of the highlights of DGRR!!! Jer, what do you think???
|
Well, I just compared our routes from Bham to NVNC.
Going through Chattanooga, its 263 miles... Going through ATL 295. Its about 30 mile difference.. But going through ATL, we could eat at some GREAT asian food off of Pleasant Hill exit. I don't mind driving 30 miles extra :) |
Id say you guys come to ATL but im a little bias as its pretty far out of the way for us to go to Chattanooga.
|
i dont mind going over to Atlanta either, great food lol u know me
|
Whatever's clever, u know I like good food.
|
Can someone tell me which way you guys go up to NVNC??
Maybe my direction is bit off.. I'm cool about going through ATL this year and caravan in ONE GIANTIC caravan :) |
I took I85 to I985 which eventually becomes US23/US441 and catch NC28 in Franklin, NC . NC28 runs into US74.
|
30 miles for good food is a small price to pay Phil!! lol

1. Jeremy & Possible Co-Pilot
2. Holly 3. Kristy 4. Carlos & Jan 5 Kevin & Lindsay Maybe 6. Marco 7. Marat 8. Drew (possibly) 9. Dale Clark and maybe other Pcola folks We're doing the same schedule as last year, driving to ATL on Thursday, spending the night there, then we can meet up with the caravan Friday early AM. Had fun caravaning last year! Dale |
Is this thursday caravan or Friday?
|
I'd love to join up with you guys, I'll be coming from Dallas and I've got 2 maybe 3 cars from CA meeting me here. It all depends on when y'all leave really, the CA guys aren't supposed to arrive till Thursday which would make it impossible for us to join. I've asked them for their opinions and will update y'all when I know. I hope we can join, one massive caravan would be quite a sight. :D
|
Holly, trying to work it out the Sam, me and Double D (EDD) can make it up Thursday afternoon to join ya! as long as we can leave around noon, should have no worries making it!
|
Yeah, it would help if I read the first post more fully :). I won't be able to get in with the Thursday caravan, but Friday AM I'll be heading from ATL to Deal's Gap.
Dale |
Just to clarify this caravan is leaving Thursday morning/afternoon from ATL
|
Dale..come Thursday and will be just like old times...
|
Yes!! Dale! You need to go ahead and come up for thursday caravan!!! Also, if you choose to get free Sunday, change it to thursday!
|
I think I'll be doing the Thursday caravan! I'll probably drive to ATL Wednesday night after work, spend the night there, then meet the caravan. Still hoping I can convince more of the Pensacola group to go, I might need a bat or something :).
I'm assuming the meeting spot will be on the north end of town like last time? That Walmart parking lot worked out pretty well I thought. Dale |
Great news Dale. Phil is wanting some good Asian food so some of us will probably meet off I85& Pleasant Hill for lunch.
Marco - you got another good restaurant up your sleeve? |
yeah..plenty of good asian eats around that area. Just need to make sure it is ok with Phil as last time turned into a disaster... hehe
|
LOL! How about tofu house by H-mart? Or we could do Sydney Buffet.. That's ususally better as its quick and no wait.
Also, parking lot is pretty big so people could park their trailer and such. Dale, I'm glad you could join us. Now, we need some good pics and videos! This year, I'm going to ask people all around USA and Canada to take pics and video of their caravan. |
ok sounds good.....who is in for lunch before meeting up with the big group??
1. Herblenny 2. Rotorypolo |

Where do you guys want to do lunch? So many good places!
|
What about that Korean BBQ place we went to when we were there for Formula D, or a buffet or Chow Baby's or well i guess you guys should make some suggestions :), man i miss working in ATL cause I had access to all the great resturants!!
|
That place will work.. Just behind the restaurant there is a shopping mall parking.
Cho Won Buffet 3635 Satellite Blvd Duluth, GA 30096 Here is a good aerial to see parking area in the back.. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e7...nny/ChoWon.jpg |
1. Herblenny
2. Rotorypolo 3. Proxy One 4. rdgt99 Cho Won sounds good. If there ends up being a very large group, Sydney's might be a good choice no only b/c of parking but they have banquet rooms and what Phil mentioned earlier on wait times, etc. |

Sydney's would be better in sense that they have more americanized asian food vs. Cho Won, which is all Korean. I think Cho Won is little bit cheaper. Here is the info on Sydney's Buffet 2131 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth, GA http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e7...0at80518AM.jpg On the map, its next to 'Uniform Advantage'. |
ok Sydney sounds good.....
