FC wide fenders

Would there be any interest in some 30mm ventless widebody fendersfor FC's?

Originally I didn't really want to go widebody, but now I am interested in the making the jump. So is anybody else out there wanting something like this?

Sorry, this is the Sexy Style kit, and this particular FC is hideous, but you get the idea.

JKL Racing Engineering 02-24-2008 07:14 PM

sexy knights........ nice, haha

anyways, yeah, we can definitely do a wide body for FC guys, what about that Tamon Design Widebody kit?

Personally I am not a fan of the Tamon kit. I am more about the subtle kits, not something that aggressive.

But I bet some people might want the Tamon.

Any chance on a subtle widebody?

JKL Racing Engineering 02-24-2008 07:56 PM

sure, any suggestions?

djmtsu 02-24-2008 09:54 PM

This is the Fore Sight kit:

Id take a wide body kit, I need my FC to match my FB. any ideas about a price range??

JKL Racing Engineering 02-25-2008 12:18 AM

well, we need to know which kit we are going to make before we can give out a price. Usually we can offer package discounts also. :D

In most cases:

Front Fender: $350-400 (FRP)
Rear Fender: $300-350 (FRP) (Price will be lower if it's a smaller flare)
Side Steps: $250-300 (Hybrid FRP)
CF Panel: $200-240 (CF)

1twistedrx7 02-25-2008 08:35 AM

Oooooo! i am really thinking about it!

JKL Racing Engineering 02-25-2008 11:59 AM

great, we need more people though, I am thinking at least around 15. :D

djmtsu 02-25-2008 12:51 PM

I am interested, of course!!!

Oh yeah, make a Panspeed hood too!!! :D

JKL Racing Engineering 02-25-2008 12:54 PM

that's the spirit we need!!! :D As we always say, as long as there are more than 15 people in, then we can make virtually any body kits, as long as it's still accessible. :)

List:
1. djmtsu
2.
3.
4.
5.

arkadyzv 02-29-2008 03:18 PM

Shine already makes the Foresight 30mm Vent-less front fenders.

As far as kits go I would definetly be interested in the Sexy style kit, they tried to a groupbuy on the evil forum but it never went anywhere although there was enough interest from what I remember.

The tamon design kit is nice too, a bit wild but its original compared to almost all the other kits out. And no has yet to reproduce it so I'm sure theres interest. Price would be the main point, I think the kit from japanparts.com is about 1500ish plus shipping which isnt too crazy but if you can reproduce it, sell it for a good price and still make decent profit then it would definetly sell. People have been asking for it for a bit.

I'd be down for either, sexy style for the vert, tamon design for the GTU, mmmm mmmm.

Lots of people want it, but lots of people also dont got no moniez.

This would be sweet to see another vendor besides shine making cool bodykits and designs. Not that they do it bad, just i would like more options. FC's have TONS of options which i adore.

JKL Racing Engineering 02-29-2008 04:02 PM

alright, then let's all make a decision, is it panspeed hood or SexyStyle widebody or both? :D

arkadyzv 02-29-2008 04:05 PM

I'd start the interest for both, see what developes. I can dig up the old thread on rx7club and teamfc3s and pm a few people.

JKL Racing Engineering 02-29-2008 04:08 PM

that would be great, go ahead and gather interests for us, just don't get caught  coz the mods over there will :beatdeadhorse5: the :9898: out of u until u :ack2:

Phoenix7 03-24-2008 06:25 PM

Ventless Widebody fender that IS NOT like ShineAutoProject's (I assume Dj feels the same way otherwise he would have gone with the SAP product.)
1.Djmtsu
2. Phoenix7 (interested if it can be made for less $ than the SAP copy)

Please let me know if my ideas on pricing are unrealistic. I really don't know the value/cost. I just know my budget and what it allows.

djmtsu 03-24-2008 06:27 PM

Yes, I am still interested. I guess some peeps be broke these days (including me). I still have to pay for my TII front spoiler!! (come on taxes......GET HERE!!)

Phoenix7 03-24-2008 06:38 PM

OH CRAP! TAXES! I forgot! Thanks man. Yeah, I just blew money on a haltech and other parts but I don't wanna miss out on wide ventless fenders and PANSPEED HOOD at reasonable prices.

Fixed the name BTW.

Bridgeport II 03-24-2008 08:34 PM

Not to derail at all but a suggestion for the widebody.

One of the reasons I am planning on doing my own CF widebody for my E-Prod car is because ALL of the front fenders I have seen taper down behind the front wheels.

In otherwords.. they are 25 or 30 MM wider at the top lip, but very quickly taper back to the stock body lines as they hit the mid point on the quarterpanel.

For example look at the Foresight kit on page one. The bottom half of the tire is exposed front and rear to the airstream.

djmtsu 04-23-2008 08:47 PM

I get ya!

Something like RX-Heaven's kit (the vert above) is an outstanding looking kit, but WAY too spendy to reproduce. Although it would be ideal due to the fact that the entire wheel and tire are within the fenders.

:icon_tup: It's a valid point though.

It's a very valid point.

It's VERY wide but I do like it, something like that but milder would be great.

I think I can get away with stock fenders for a while but I would want the hood for sure.

JKL Racing Engineering 04-23-2008 10:57 PM

We can definitely make some changes to the design and make this happen as long as there are enough people interested. :)

Phoenix7 04-24-2008 01:01 AM

10? 20? 30?

Approximate price?

Iox106 04-24-2008 09:48 AM

Im inter in the hood for the right price.

We usually require 15 people and we will have to know exactly which kit you guys are most interested in so we can estimate a price. Is it the foresight kit you guys want us to begin with or something else?

Phoenix7 04-24-2008 04:50 PM

I made a thread about it in the lounge. :dunno: I'd rather get a Hood first but majority rules, we'll see in a few days.

EJayCe996 04-24-2008 05:25 PM

No interest in the GK hood? Basically the only difference is it doesn't have a "turbo vent" which I never really cared for anyway. Its quite a bit cheaper (yen wise) to Panspeed hoods i've come across for sale in Japan.

Phoenix7 04-24-2008 05:31 PM

I don't know if the opening is large enough. I've seen one-too-many non-functional hoods out there and you can see where the opening sits according to the radiator and fan on the Panspeed.

If you can get more pics that show the whole hood I might change my mind.

The cheaper it is the less we'll have to pay for a copy!!!

djmtsu 04-24-2008 05:31 PM

The GK hood would work for me since a turbo vent is kinda....nevermind.

And if it is initially cheaper, than I am even more for it!!

EJayCe996 04-24-2008 06:21 PM

The quirk with most pictures of their hood (or cars rocking it) is of the older design where the vent was a little further back and it looks slightly more narrow.... maybe its the angle?

Phoenix7 04-24-2008 06:30 PM

damn, great job! Now we know that it's CHEAPER and just as functional. Now what?
