GoPro’s HD Motorsports HERO is the world’s highest performance 1080p HD on-board video and still photo camera. Professional quality 1080p, 960p, and 720p HD resolutions record at 30 frames per second (60 fps in 720p). The HD Motorsports HERO easily mounts to any helmet, motorcycle, ATV, car, plane, jet ski, boat, snowmobile or other vehicle. The camera’s quick-release mounting design makes it easy to re-position the camera around your vehicle for professional quality HD video from several angles.

Record up to 2.5 hours on a single charge and up to 9 hours total on a 32GB SD card (not included).

Included are mounts for two helmets and three vehicles, as well as a suction cup for maximum versatility and convenience. The housing is waterproof to 180’ / 60m.

GoPro's obsession with sound has conquered the wind. At 85 mph on a motorcycle, you’ll enjoy the throaty sound of your motor, not the wind. Inside even the quietest street cars, hear the pull of your motor...not the drone of the wind and road.

Included is a 1100mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery that lasts for up to 2.5 hours of constant recording. With optional accessories, you can also plug the camera into a wall outlet, cigarette lighter, or with any USB-compatible power adapter, wire it directly to your vehicle’s electrical system. The battery will charge while you record.

The camera can also shoot automatic 5MP photos at 2/5/10/30 and 60 second intervals during your drive or ride, hands free. Press the shutter button once and record up to 2.5 hours of poster-print quality photos.

Waterproof to 180’ / 60m and protected from rocks and other hazards thanks to its removable polycarbonate housing. Replacement housings and lens kits are available, making repairs or refurbishing your HD HERO camera affordable and convenient. It's a GoPro...go for it.™

What's Included:
  • 1 HD HERO Camera (5 megapixel)
  • 1 Rechargable 1100 mAh Lithium-Ion Battery
  • 1 Waterproof Quick-Release Housing (180’/60 m)

we NEED a GB on this before Deal

ZGN 02-06-2010 10:40 PM

I wish I could get better pricing for a order of 20 items.
$300 is an awesome price for what this camera can do.

I just ordered mine and can't wait for it to be delivered!

I'll bring a few with me to DGRR for people that don't see the ad here.

vex 02-06-2010 11:09 PM

OHhhhhhh... so F'ing tempting. I might think about it when the tax return comes in.... :D

TitaniumTT 02-07-2010 12:15 AM

I'm over budget and I'm still thinking about it...... would be so much nicer than the little $120 cannon that I have.... although for what it is, it works well.

Gregory Casimir 02-07-2010 08:30 PM

i was watching some of the camera's video footage and it looks and sounds awesome! i wanna get one but how long is this deal going to last or is this the package that it comes with?

staticpat 02-08-2010 10:28 AM

"the official cam of RCC" .... wait a minute, rotaries don't have cams!

Oh... nevermind, gotcha!

ZGN 02-08-2010 12:48 PM

I think it will last until they come out with something better!
If anyone does purchase one of these let me know, I want to hear your feedback!

ZGN 02-11-2010 01:14 PM

My Camera should be delivered tomorrow! I'll post up some videos and keep you guys in the loop! If it is as good as they make it out to be it's going to be awesome!

DGRR Here I come!

3DZukini 02-11-2010 03:41 PM

Awesome... I really wanted to get one of those for the Deals Gap trip if I make it down, going to be some awesome videos posted up this year for sure :)

orion84gsl 02-11-2010 09:54 PM

I can personally vouch for this camera. I used the previous model last year at the Gap and it was awesome. (unfortunately I lost all footage doing a reformat of my laptop) In fact it was so good I plan to buy this new one with the added features as well. One thing that drove me nuts was only having one angle of footage for each run. The price includes all the mounts, and is a great price for a really versatile and easy to use camera.

You should buy one for your birthday today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

ZGN 02-16-2010 05:48 PM

Who is going to buy one for DGRR? It would be nice to have several of these in action!

TitaniumTT 02-17-2010 03:31 AM

I might, I want to see some in car footage of it to see if it's really worth it. I've got a cannon mounted to my cage and it did all right...... not sure if it's worth the $300 but knowing me.....

I might have time in the next 2 weeks to throw something quick together and upload it.
I'll post it here when i do!

Going to sleep now :)

orion84gsl 02-18-2010 10:38 PM

Here you go.

http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...rch_type=&aq=f

The only real problems I've had with this one are wind noise/rattling, which they claim to have fixed with the new one, and the casing muffles the audio too much, which with the remote microphone won't be an issue with the new one either.

ZGN 02-18-2010 11:57 PM

In addition to the waterproof enclosure, the new one come with an open back to allow for better sound when going less than 100mph, It's just not waterproof :)

lol, thanks! I just noticed this.... I need to spend more time on here :) Is there going to be any price break on these at DGRR? This is just another one of those gadgets I'd like to have and will probably buy someday... but I don't REALLY need it. I'm sure none of you know what I'm talking about ;)

Nooo, no no , not at all.

But damnit Kevin you need to take the link down.... I'm SOOOOOO tempted to buy the damn thing and build a few mounts specifically for the Dragon. I'm thinking a mount right behind the front tire facing forward, one facing backwards dead center in the rear bumper..... that would be awesome.... DAMNIT!!!! TAKE THE LINKS DOWN!

ZGN 02-20-2010 01:10 PM

I'll check to see if I can get a discount on these to sell at DGRR but I doubt GoPro will approve one. $300 is pretty cheap!

Here is a boring video of me driving through my neighborhood for a quick test.
This was shot at WVGA Mode 846X480 at 60 frames per second.
of course youtube default it to 360p you have to manually select 480p in the drop down menu of youtube

The highest this camera can do is 1080p 1920X1080 at 30 frames per second.
hope to have more videos soon!

HERE YA GO

DO IT NOW!

Also I am in the works for getting special pricing for DGRR attendee's
If you are interested in purchasing one at DGRR send me a PM or reply here.

TitaniumTT 02-24-2010 01:59 PM

I'd buy one @ DGRR for the right price if I don't get one before hand..... I can't find the links for it though :suspect: ..... but I need some pics of it and measurements so I can build a few mounts. Definately want to get one on the back bumper and one just behind the front wheel.

ZGN 02-24-2010 02:13 PM

Special discounted price to sell at DGRR is maybe $250 - $265 for the HD Motorsports HERO cam. This discount would only apply to people registered for the event.

To get through all their vendor requirements and have a case shipped before DGRR is going to be cutting it very close so I can't promise anything. You are the only one who has expressed interested in it. If I had at least 12 people confirmed that would like one of these at DGRR for the discounted rate I might push harder to get it done :)
Post any more responses or questions over here so I don't continue to thread jack http://www.rotarycarclub.com/rotary_...ad.php?t=10341

haha If you had it facing me you better have one hell of a run going or you'll be getting a close up the whole time :)

 Is dem fighting words or a challenge? ;)

One way or another I'll have one of these @ Deals, the discounted price would be killer but either way. And yes, you and I will be making some runs together through the Dragon.... we've got basically the same torque curve, mine is probably a little higher though... ;)

ZGN 03-07-2010 09:50 AM

hahah ok Kentetsu is out... when the wife is involved we all know what happens :)

Can I get at least 12 people who are interested in buying one of these at a discounted rate at DGRR?

Redshft 03-07-2010 05:42 PM

I've been thinking of buying one of these for a while. But having to order, ship through custom's etc. is a pain. If it was staring me in the face at a discounted price, I would have a hard time resisting...

WE3RX7 03-07-2010 07:11 PM

I'd be down for this... i was going to order it prior to dgrr but with my gimp arm, dont think i'll be making any spirited videos before the trip....

TitaniumTT 03-08-2010 01:07 AM

so is that 3 so far?

War Eagle 03-08-2010 07:28 AM

Damn you guys! Stumbled across this thread and became obsessed as I was just trying to figure out how to mount my Cannon for video.

Couldn't wait so I went ahead and ordered one thru Amazon for $250 shipped. Will let you know when I receive it and I'll post a review on the unit.

My question is how do you charge the battery? It doesn't appear to come with a battery charger. I guess ideally I would order another battery and a charger somewhere.

ZGN 03-08-2010 08:59 AM

You can plug it into any computer to charge through the usb port.
or if you have a AC outlet to usb for another device like an ipod or phone you could use that to charge it also.

ZGN 03-08-2010 09:06 AM

If anyone else gets one from amazon here is the link, they do have some good deals on these and you can buy items separately. I would not wait to get one at DGRR as I can't say for sure if I am going to be able to get a case of these in by then.
GoPro Amazon

WE3RX7 03-08-2010 09:21 AM

Good deal, I was going to get one from amazon before I saw this GB attempt - I'd like to get mine for the ride down to dgrr if possible, so it looks like we'll have a few there..

I need a new SLR lens too, geez - more $ on camera equipment than the car at this point :)

GoPro Amazon

Amazon has some great deals on SD cards also.

classicauto 03-08-2010 12:20 PM

Guy I'm so down on this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Count me in. If for whatever reason it doesn't work as a traditional GB/discounted box for DGRR then PM me a price to buy one and grab it from you at the show please.

:)

Redshft 03-08-2010 01:37 PM

Assuming I don't bankrupt my self between now and then, I would be in. Unfortunately Amazon usually won't ship the good stuff to Canada, so that's not as much an option. (Plus I'd rather support somebody in the community.)

Yea main reason I'm so gung-ho. Shipping US products to canada (when they actually do) hurts my wallet and no-no place.

butterfly21kaye 03-09-2010 07:54 PM

I want one too! Oh, wait, I already have one.

War Eagle 03-12-2010 07:31 AM

Just received mine. Will set it up tomorrow and post up some videos.
