Oh boy.... I might have to buy vinnies car.

FC Zach 04-18-2016 03:15 PM

You talk to him?

project86 04-18-2016 03:22 PM

Yeah. I'm just checking with Emily on my budget.

FC Zach 04-18-2016 03:23 PM

Awesome, crossing fingers

project86 04-18-2016 03:25 PM

Thanks. It's pretty perfect really. I wanted to put an RE in the white car anyway.

project86 04-18-2016 05:18 PM

Is there someone in the group that can tune?

FC Zach 04-18-2016 05:34 PM

There are a couple as well as Chris Ludwig who will be in Smyrna for dyno tuning in a few months or less.

I plan to have him look over mine while he's here.

This. And I believe Ludwig also built the harness for Vinnie's FC, right?

Anyway, he tunes Carter's racecar, and it's a friggin monster.

TitaniumTT 04-19-2016 11:52 AM

So Zac, what was your mileage like on the way back?

project86 04-19-2016 12:29 PM

Still wishing I'd kept my fc right about now. I'm not sure I can swing vinnies

Jumped to 20! People's eyes and lungs were thankful as well.

TitaniumTT 04-19-2016 01:32 PM

 excellent... and that was just with some timing changes. It you wanna get froggy you can run 35* and some negative split and really lean it out. But watch your EGT's.

EGT's are the reason I run 30-35* and .92L at cruise.

FC Zach 04-19-2016 01:36 PM

Paul text me and said he got some good data from a day of logging

TitaniumTT 04-19-2016 01:43 PM

Sexellent. Data-logging is great for fine tuning everything up to WOT. After that you really need the dyno to make sure changes are going in the right direction.

FC Zach 04-19-2016 01:46 PM

That's in the works, when Ludwig returns to my buddy's shop in the near future I want to have him check it out.

What's the shop? Is there a standard tuning cost or is it like a time based thing?

FC Zach 04-19-2016 07:08 PM

Gage Performance in Smyrna. Not sure about the costs. .

project86 04-19-2016 07:34 PM

Well i just texted vinnie again. trying to find out a good time to go put eyes on the car. wife is good to go on it. i just want see it and work out payment and all that.

from I remembered it was $100 an hr and that was just dyno time and doesn't cover the tune.

almoststockfc 04-20-2016 06:35 AM

2 shirts left. 1 L grey and 1 S grey. Let me know if anyone wants one.

(edit) Johnny- i think when you got your other shirts the guy just added them and didn't remove these. I say that because Mel is the only person i ordered a size small for.

Johnny_K 04-20-2016 11:05 AM

Cool. I'll take them since I can't find mine.

project86 04-20-2016 11:32 AM

Currently at cruise he's around 30-32, -5 split, and have the o2 correction set to 14.4 target, which it hits pretty well. Unfortunately he doesn't have EGT so that may be as far as its worth going to be conservative. Still smells but isn't eye watering. Will be using logs to create some delta tables to smooth the correction over (sprintRE doesn't have anything built in AFAIK).

Didn't touch timing much up high, so there should still be power to be gained when he gets on the dyno. He is going to need some, as the Jismo beat him from 40-100mph on the way home

Kewl Kewl.... the negative split helps in cruise... it lets you lean it out farther than stoich in the quest for mpg. I don't on my personal car though, even with EGT probes I like it around .92L

:Chevy_anim: Time. At that point I think I would've pulled over on the side of the rd and torched it

I don't remember exactly what the timing was up high, it looked pretty good FWIR so you really need to just play around with it. Some cars like timing around 30, some much higher. The most I've made was darrells ITS car. non cheater motor and I did 196rwhp. That fucker wanted 35*+ and I ran it @ .905L or 13.3:1 AFR. Other cheater motors (ported) like to see closer to .85L or 12.5:1. They're all cranky and need their own level of attention

1. If about 50 miles and 3 days counts as a shake down. Then I shook it like a shake weight. You saw the burnout? Were you not entertained?

2. 2017 goals.
