True

However it is a Sport so there are no creature comforts.

djmtsu 08-10-2017 10:09 AM

Yeah, maybe like 2600-2700 lbs.

Doesn't really matter what kind of power your FC makes, it is the prettiest in the country.

t_g_farrell 08-10-2017 10:11 AM

FC weights (from wikipedia, all true no doubt) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_RX-7

Curb weight 1,223–1,584 kg (2,696–3,492 lb)

SA weights

Curb weight 1,000–1,100 kg (2,300–2,500 lb)

More details here: http://www.rx7.org/public/rx7specs.html

+1 on that.

FC Zach 08-10-2017 10:13 AM

Damn, DJ's right on the money. . He Googled lol

And thanks guys!

djmtsu 08-10-2017 10:22 AM

Nah, didn't Google. I just know the Cosmo weighs the same as an S4 Base. But, you added a few extra pounds with the turbo driveline parts.

FC Zach 08-10-2017 10:24 AM

True

almoststockfc 08-10-2017 10:29 AM

We can try to corner balance it any time you want man.

So there's that.

It's flat because the upper line is reading AFR and the scaling is weird. Torque is not on that graph. :willy_nilly:

But yeah, the AFRs are solid and consistent, and thats nice.

looks like you need to raise the rev limiter to 8k to have your upshift be better in the powerband. 8k@175whp is not going to hurt a T2 trans in the slightest.

LOL, You're telling me?! ! Last I remember, I felt as though it would take the act of congress to make the change when I asked for it to be bumped up when we were at DGRR. Anywho, I believe it is set at 8 but never reached the limiter. :tongue1:

I'd like to weigh it for the hell of it. I did this years ago with my old gutted '89 on a friends scales he used for his late-model, mine was a near perfect ~49/51 ratio and weighed around 2k. With everything leading up to this being said, it doesn't actually change the weight of the car

Also, not much can be done without coilovers. My Celica on the other hand could probably use some corner balancing though. . :driving:

Why dont you have coilovers?

FC Zach 08-11-2017 11:49 AM

No reason, I just ended up with KYB AGXs and RB springs and have been content with them since. I have only considered changing them once when I wanted different wheels and that was due to tire options or lack thereof but I found some and both the wheels and suspension stay :)

^This. That's the same setup I have on my T2 and I love it. Also got the ES urethane bushing set & the Racing Beat DTSS eliminator bushings and called it a day. Stock T2 F & R sway bars.

djmtsu 08-12-2017 11:51 AM

Yeah, coilovers on a 'street car' aren't very good, unless you have the cash to buy some very nice ones (which usually are worth more than an FC).

I never had a reason to go further than AGX/RB on my FC. Slayed the Dragon very well, and rode through town just the same.

FC Zach 08-12-2017 11:56 AM

Correct, however BC offers good quality at competitive prices. That and they are able to be rebuilt (if needed) here in the US.

And I love my set-up too, does all I've ever needed it do.

FC Zach 07-10-2018 11:06 PM

It has been a long while, guess I'll share what little I've done :)

Aside from installing an LRB Speed defrost vent, I've simply kept her clean, gassed-up, and ready to go. If you have one of these vents and you notice the hardware is different than what's supplied. . that's because I really didn't care for the look of the cap screws so I replaced them with smoother button heads

There was a good turnout last weekend at the cars & coffee in Franklin, TN. Here's a couple nice pics an individual took of my car.

Car looks really clean Zach.

That white SA caught my eye. Is that Mels?

FC Zach 07-12-2018 08:46 AM

Yep

diabolical1 08-20-2018 05:39 PM

Wow! It's been quite a journey.

Glad to see everything sorted out now though. Did you ever get a actual mode of failure for the Sprint RE?

Your car is gorgeous! I'm not a huge fan of red (and keep in mind, mine is red), but I must say your car is definitely worth a second, and third look.

Far and away, the best post of the thread! :D

YES! yes it has! I'm not sure what came first or what the cause was but there was also damage to the pin on the backside of the ECU connector, literally burned like a blown fuse. It had to be sent off to Haltech for repair (and on my dime, which I thought was dumb but oh well. . . I just wanted this over). The harness was returned with no problem found. Ludwig's prediction was that it was ground related.

DJ really knows how to lighten the mood with his smart-ass comments

The latest addition to the car is a hard to find Draw-Tite trailer hitch which has a removable ball mount unlike the Curt that was on it previously. I'm really liking the discreet look of this one.

Here's the Curt I had for the longest time:

and the Draw-Tite:

Now to find a ball mount for it. . I got Reece branded one from DJ but unfortunately it's a loose fit. They are similar in design but I think the Draw-Tite version is slightly wider. I'm actually considering modifying this one to accept a 1-1/4" square mount which is mush easier to find.

Damn. Oh well, we tried!
