yea thats as far as i got, the companies site only formally addresses the item for one car, but it looks like it would only work on that specific car

all other sites speak of it in past tense and dont say how to go about purchasing one or the type of setup they would run

and lol im trying to make this go as long as possible lol its getting hard

Oh noes!!!!! I done it again!

The super secret tranny is assembled, it works, sorta, one problem to solve and one piece to be machined. Then it's off to Daves for some cryo treatment, full rebuild and then it can be put into the car. 6-spd, awesome gearing, and it fits in the stock shifter opening and BOLTS up to the bellhousing.

If you're serious, I can price some pieces out for you. I know exactely what needs to be done to make it work, and can get prices for everything with the exception of the machine work. I'll be heading down to the shop in the next few days to get some parts turned down.

Only drawback so far is there is no aftermkt short throw that I can find for it..... I may be making one of those too :banghead:

Hell, tax returns are around the corner, why not? :)
I honestly don't have anything better to spend my money on other than that which automatically comes out of my paychecks into a Roth IRA

Alrighty, gimme some time to make sure that this thing is up to snuff, that the needed machining can actually be done, then I'll grab some parts fiches and price some stuff out. ;)

You would need to
change the clutch, maybe the flywheel,
starter
and worst off, modify the PPF as the tailshaft housing is most likely very different.
Speed sensors are another thing to worry about.

Yeah Jay, forgot to mention that, there's no speed sensor on this tranny. You'd need to use an aftermkt speedo with a programable hall effect sensor..........

Me, I got my MoTeC ;)

That's a little much for a gear i doubt i need. I think i'll wait to see what you do with your FD, i'm sure you'll come up with something else. I'm sure my haltech could wire into a speed sensor of any kind just take some time to figure it out.

TitaniumTT 01-15-2010 01:37 PM

Mag converter off of an ABS sensor ;)

If the trans works well in the FC, I'll be doing the same thing with the FD. It's not an extra gear, it tightens up all the gears. You do loose some OD though. Im using the RX8 gear set, .84 OD FWIW. I think the ratio's will be spot on though. Especially the 1-2 & 2-3 shift.
