I know if anybody will bring the FD back, you will. You should keep those eclipse wheels though, looks good :)

We are locked down by snow now too - My wife had to leave the rx8 at the inlaws so I picked her up in the mighty TJ... sucks though, apparently the 8 became a good snow drift mule and is now under 36+ inches of snow... should make for a fun tomorrow going to dig her out....

That's exactly what I was about to say, except I don't like them on the FD  KEEP THEM AS DD WHEELS FOR IT ANYWAY

congrads man, I will get an FD too, the next few years for sure, it will be sick.... good luck with the build, looking forward to reading bout it.

VEry nice pick up man! Judging by it's baja stance I am guessing there is no drivetrain? Are you planning to RE that one as well or use a REW? I understand if you don't want to spill the beans or even know yet. Should be a fun thread for me to get good ides off of:D I may wait to go v-mount until you make yours. haha. Anyways, congrats. They are awsome machines. Out of all 3 gens we have, it is the most confidence inspiring to drive.

Looks like a nice straight body on her good project to start with is it a 93 touring? I see the sunroof and lack of a spoiler but the fogs are gone

Thanks man :) It should be a pretty fast paced build for everything that needs to be done. I'm going to keep track of every penny and every minute spent for a ton of reasons.

Now you have more proof that a Cherokee can haul a car. Although when Tray and I picked it up I was driving an '04 Grand Cherokee Overland :smilielol5:

:smilielol5: Not a chance! I've got way to many sets of rims. I need to make those dissapear along with my Kosei's. Thanks for the compliment Bill

Damn, we got maybe a foot of that shit. Ruined my plans in Manhattan yesterday and now I'm trying to get a little energy to go dig everything out. Not sure why............. There's nothing moving around here except Jeeps

You are quite right Dave, there is no drivetrain at all. I'll be going RE and MoTeC but that's about all I'm saying. The turbo's are going to be top secret until I get some numbers :suspect: Your comment on the confidence inspiring sounds about right. I love the FC but when she breaks loose, which is often with that power.... it gets a little sketchy. Seems like the FD's suspension should be able to handle more, not to mention you can squeeze bigger tires in the wells, which will be rolled prior to primer :D

I believe she is a touring. The body is perfect for a build like this. Damn strait, there's a ding in every panel but they are all very minor, no surface rust, the only problem is there were some sleek headlights in stalled at one point and some supports were cut out that need to be buttoned up but that's about it. Alex, trying to convince me to make a race car, was harping on those, then the next day we spent a few hours with a spot weld cutter removing 90% of the front end on the straightest FC we've ever seen :smash:

Gonna have to talk to Alex about resizing

How much of the structure was cut up for the sleek lights? do you need another core support to fix it?

Max777 12-20-2009 06:27 PM

I say do some RE-Amemeiya headlights, they look damn sexy!

But that's just me... :D

The core support is in fantasic shape. Its a few pieces of sheetmetal that were cut out below the core support that run vertical towards the fender liner. Not a huge deal to repair and I may add some extra bracing heading out towards the corner where the fender meets the bumper down low. Thanks for the offer though man, I appreciate it!

Negative - KnightSport dual headlight kit. I never liked the sleeklights.

helghast7 12-21-2009 04:17 PM

hey you can weld different types of metals right?

I love the way the knightsports look but if I remember right they require the headlight lid retainer (clips) to be cut off and use doublesided tape or something to hold it down. They are plastic and have a bad enough time staying on as it is without cutting mounts off.
there was a group buy for some bi-xenon projectors (from sakebomb garage) in the popups for good lighting without the bad looks of the sleek lights.

WE3RX7 12-21-2009 05:57 PM

Such a hater on flush headlights :) Guess that means I cant con you into making the bracket for my HIDs huh?

You should make a new thread for your FD, even if you dont start building it until the spring - I have a sneaking suspicion you will tinker here and there before then :)
