Nicely done Sean!

I would change ONLY two things

1) I would change would be to swap the MAF pipe. Meaning put the strait piece before the sensor, not after it.

2) I would've ditched the bdc bullshit irons, the bdc bullshit meth system, and stayed rotary ;)

OK, 3 things.... If I were you I'd give me your rims :smilielol5:

I know I know but Kyle is right...no manderal bender anywhere. Not to mention the cost of labor I was gonna pay for using cut up peices of manderal bent pipe was gonna be upwards of 780.00(what he qouted me). The bends are not at all too severe, I will take a power hit to save the cash....I am a family man bro, money is very scarce when it comes to this car.

Yeah, I hear yeah, and I've been sorta keeping up with this thread.
I know you've spent a LOT of money on the previous build, and I gotta hand it to you to get to this point.
Sorry to see you had to go through so much to get to this point.
I guess my point is that it's too bad you had to cut a little bit of corners to get it completed. :)

Thanks Brian:biggthumpup: I think it turned out alright:p

As for the MAF, last night I moved it towards the TB another 1.5" by moving my straight section of tubing into the 90* elbow( I had another 2" of space in there to move it). 3 to 4" of straight pipe before the MAF is within limits of Chevys requirements.

as for the rims.................never! Muhahahahahahahhaa;)

Yeah it sucks but it is what it is. Who knows maybe I will grab Ransom and cut out the crushes and weld in some 2.5 manderal I have laying around. It wouldnt be hard. Thanks for the words man:grouphug:

FC3S Murray 04-10-2011 09:33 PM

Well.........I take it back in to the exhaust shop tomorrow to have them remove the sections of crush bent exhaust.

I had no idea it was as big as a power reducer as it is. Should only run me another 160.00 for the replacement of the crush bends with good manderal bends I have.

Damn you ReTED ;)

FC3S Murray 04-11-2011 03:09 PM

All crush bends fixed:
Only pic I have.

FC3S Murray 04-12-2011 12:03 PM

Soon brotha, soon.

sheeit i made 315whp on the worst dual exhaust imaginable (and stock manifolds+cats)

makes me wonder what she'll do with headers and mandrel bent pipes

UPDATE:

Went today and weighed the FC. This weight includes me(190lbs) and 7 gallons of gas(42lbs total)..................
http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...y/FCweight.jpg

I am totally surprised! The company just got there scale calibrated last week and it only has a 5lb error varience WOW. I figured being the turboII model and having the LS1 would have made the car tip 3K easy.

I am happy :)

As for the FC, I have been driving it around like a mad man, getting some miles on the LS7 clutch and just seeing how the car reacts. I leave next thursday for the tune. :)

FerociousP 04-20-2011 04:27 PM

Thats how much my vert weighs... almost exactly.

Not bad considering!

FC3S Murray 04-20-2011 05:09 PM

Yeah not bad at all. A curb weight of 2728 dry tank, 2,827 with a FULL tank(100lbs) with a V8 is awesome. The OEM TurboII was 2845 with full tank of gas.

Hehehehehee....makes me giggle about some of the people on the other club that said that this swap made the car WAAYYYYY heavier. :)

FC3S Murray 04-30-2011 05:15 PM

Well we made it home yesterday..........it was a nightmare getting back. Old man winter HAD to have his last storm the day I come back from my tune!! Talk about a major pucker factor going over two of the passes at 5950FT with no chains(they were making everybody put on chains...we had none.

Rain and snow the whole way back....my car got some minor road rash :(

Lets sum it up for you with pictures:

Car loaded on Uhaul after cursing and having to remove some shit on the trailer to clear the front lip. *Cant open driver door once loaded since car is so low. You have to climb out the window....fun :'(
http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...unetrip001.jpg

Then the car cover. NOW the only reason I ran a car cover was last month when I went to Spokane for a family death there was a TON of gravel everywhere. I figured I would take some paint chaffing over rock chips anyday. Soo I put masking tape on all the "high" areas of the body. It worked too, the only parts that got chaffed were the sides of the A and C pillars, and the rear fender.

On the dyno

Dyno vids
LS1 FC3S Dyno pull
...LOL I trip on a metal pipe in this vid
LS1 FC3S Dyno pull #2

Dyno sheet (yellow lines are best pull, the green was the first pull of the day in 3rd gear for tune testing)

Same pull but power levels if at sea level

http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...ay/dyno002.jpg

.....engine bay soooo dirty :'( :'( ...took me 2 hours last night to detail again
http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...unetrip011.jpg
http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...unetrip012.jpg

The bad weather coming back...after seeing no gravel there we decided to ditch the cover since the weather was supposed to be decent...... lol
http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...unetrip014.jpg

The worse weather at the passes....
http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...unetrip019.jpg

Now I have to do some major polishing and overall car clean up. Car show next weekend....got to get to work.

So nice to be finished.......kinda ;)

FC3S Murray 05-03-2011 08:42 AM

WTF.....I get done after 3 years of sweat and blood and dont even get a "good job"? ;)

.......V8 haters lol ;) ;)

project86 05-03-2011 11:19 AM
