Fucking Lame man! Was wondering where you've been. Sunday we can definately get something done. I'm hoping to be dropping off the firewall tomorrow, picking up Friday, going out to Dave's on Saturday, so I bet Sunday Grant will be by to help installing that fucker.

ETA is hopefully by the end of the month. I'm actually pulling the oldies out right now. Going to be sending BNR the cartridges, the comp housings and all the oil/water lines. The center section and the snails are going out to be ceramic coated and then they'll be shipped to BNR for assembly. Exhaust log and a few other parts going for coating as well. Brian is going to mod my y-pipe and then send that to coating. Then everything is on it's way back to me. Hopefully I'll have everything back in my hands by the end of the months. Then it's a few other TEEEEENY TIIIIIINY things left and she's good to go. Little things like trans', brakes, fuel cell gaskets.... little shit.

Definately gimme a shout on Sunday, I'll be around doing little to nothing I'm sure

you no brian, after reading the comments people made i dont think these guys understand how shitty the twins really are reliability wise lol

when the actual cast iron housing around the wastegate started cracking at 15lbs in my first set i knew then and there these things were going to give me a lot of FML moments

cant wait for ST setup this year :)

God I don't know whos worse you or MC...you guys are going to give Bill a complex and not a good one either!! It's good though it takes his focus away from daily harassment calls about my project. Keep up the good work!

OH yeah its time for me to start harrassing you again thanks for the reminder :)

Ah - thats right, did you get that engine in yet?? Did you get a chance to order the pilot bearing/seal, lol....

It only gets worse from here...

On another note, Brian won't give me a complex. Our cars are way to similar as it is, but at the end of the day.. my peak HP and TQ will yield a little higher of a number, lol. I mean, lets face it... twins can only do but so much :toetap05:

This is going to get ugly..I see it coming! :smilielol5: I think this calls for a dyno war @ KDR when your done with the FC. And for shits and grins invite your cousin Jamie with that 1200hp Supra :icon_no2:

WE3RX7 03-10-2011 04:35 PM

His 1200hp was sold a few years ago, their shop car is now a 900hp supra. Its actually much faster than the 1200hp one.

Dont worry about it getting ugly... I already got a slamming voice mail late last night from some sleep deprived mad scientist bent on twin turbo domination of the forced induction world :)

On that note, Brian... I'll give you a ring back shortly...

Getting a good base and ceramic coating them helps.

Not to mention keeping the EGT's in check as well is a good thing. When you pop the hood to check fluids at a gas stop and the mani is glowing beat cherry red hot, you've got problems. So IMO, tuning helps.

My problem really was I was getting and using used cartridges that had been sitting stagnent for years. So the seals all dry out. Then the first shot of pressure they see is 135+ psi, and 100+psi for hours on end, they tend to fail quickly.

But yea, aside from that, even a newly rebuilt core will fail quickly if the boost gets too high.

He deserves a complex, it keeps him motivated.... or it should. It hasn't, which is starting to concern me. I left him a VM last night, something to the effect of it really doesn't matter when the brakes that we're working on are done for him, 'cuz they'll just sit in a box or become some sort mantly piece becuase his FC will NEVER roll under it's own power

Yeah, but twins + Cosmo > Twin renni's... that's really all the math I care about right now ;)

After that, Cosmo + secret turbo > net torque than whatever you've got planned :p for that plastic nosed FC or yours

I'm game for that... I bet Dave would be too. I've got no problem setting something up before DGRRXI if you guys are. I'll be out there anyway

haahahahaa  ahahahaa  hahahahaahaa :smilielol5:

I am bent on domination of the twin turbo rotary world. I will break that record, and I'll do it at less boost, then depending on how close we are, I may tweak a little more and go for 450:driving:

Gimme a shout tomorrow pal.... I'll be around all day.. Got the day off and when I cam back from OH tonight I found like 5 new packages:001_005: So I'll be doing a bunch of work on the ole' girl tomorrow.

2gslse 03-10-2011 09:48 PM

Brian, I was referring to one320fc's former weekly harrassment calls before he gave up on it for a while.
I think I should get the FD retuned before the gap this year but time is gonna be tight for me with work and its almost springtime (yardwork sucks) I am back from GA but will be going back in a few weeks to help a buddy get his crap together for DGRR and I still haven't even began working on my FB and it was gonna be my winter project but the RX8 kinda took up all my funding/time.

Ah I see.... I'm surprised I haven't recieved more heckling considering I missed Deals by a matter of hours last year. I certainly deserve any and all harassment that I get.

Shit man, it's not like it was all for nothing, I love your 8.... it's beautiful.

When Bill get's his lightweight flywheel bought and installed in his 8, we should definately make a trip back. I'm hoping to be there around the beginning of April for the first round of tuning and to get the trans swapped out. At the least get the tranny as close to completely dealt with as possible. I mounted my RX8 5-spd knob in my truck a few days ago; had to re-thread the shifter itself just to solidify my intentions of never ever taking the 5spd knob off

As far as I can tell they are still 100% Dropped the EGT's by really cranking on the timing. I think part of it was some sort of structural defect in the sleeve because the front rotor was exposed to the same EGT's and pressure and vibrations yet that one was flawless and has been... soooooo I dunno.

So far so good though

exactly lol, which is why im giving them a farewell salute this season and taking the plunge into the wonderful world of single turbo...ness

which technically speaking will actually save me money in the long run..plus so far its becoming a pretty cheap build...my estimate for the single turbo swap..parts only of course(nobody but me and the even cooler me in PA[if that makes any sense to you] touches my car...well you too lol but lets keep to the point lol) is looking around 2k
which includes:
turbo
custom manifold(which is almost done btw  )
dp
wastegates
lines(ext.)

so i can dig that, the hard part is deciding if i want to really go crazy this year and redo my IC setup as well as upgrade my oil coolers, redo the fuel system and AI all in one shot

i guess the deciding factor is if my new lady friend is a keeper or not

on a side note this weekend im determined to dig through my stuff to locate those switches for you...ive got a feint idea on their location....but ive been wrong before lol

aaannnndddd if we go back to the other side...note.... do you know anyone that does real good ceramic coating? once my manifold and what not is done i want to get it coated but i have no clue who does a good job at a good price

TwinTurbo ness when they're working properly is truly devine though.... I've gotta take you for a run in my car when she's back together again.

I had to think about it and read it twice before I realized what you were getting at... but yeah, totally makes sense now.

That's really not that bad at all when you think about what some of these "kits" are going for... and I use that term loosely. So that's some pretty good shit right there:icon_tup:

Meh, don't upgrade until it's needed. Bigger intercooler, bigger oil coolers, new lines, all that crap might not even be necessary. I say do it and see where you land with it all and roll from there.

Cool shit for sure man. Yeah, I'd definately be interested because the ones that I'm looking for are becoming more and more difficult to find and I don't feel like paying $180 each for new ones... so yeah, as of right now I'm open for suggestions
