Since this carb didn't have a fuel pump built on it like the first one I tried, I robbed one from my lawnmower for testing purposes. It worked so well I decided to keep it on there and buy another for the mower.

I've never heard of or seen a pump design like this until starting this project and am fascinated by how simple they are. If you are not familiar with these, they are pulse pumps and use +/- pressure from the motor to actuate a diaphragm which moves the fuel from the tank and at a few PSI.

Got it mounted and I'm happy with the results, almost looks like it was made to be there :)

Something else I learned along the way is how to work on a drive clutch. These are interesting as well. Mine was engaging way too late for my application and sounded like a drag car staging, waiting for the green light. After learning how it functioned and doing a little research, I ordered a lighter/softer spring and heaver pucks to recalibrate it. I finished that project this weekend and got the results I was expecting. Aside from the lack of a reverse, this is as good as it's gonna get and is now ready for the Gap. Still actively searching for a reversible diff but not holding my breath since golf carts/parts go for a premium :(

Yeah, I had an old John Deere mower with a pump like that. It wasn't working well and I
disassembled it cleaned it up and presto started working. Doesn't put out much but its
enough for these little engines.

Maybe just have some holes in the floor so you can push it backwards Flintstone style
with your feet. LOL

It will be perfect for that, as long as it can traverse the speed bumps they have on the road up the hill without tossing any beer coolers off the back :cheers2:

Fixed, mounted a trailer hitch and I got one of those hoveround scooter carriers. This oughta be big enough for our coolers! I hope ;)

^That's what I was thinking.... Going to need an equal weight cooler strapped to the hood of that thing to keep it balanced!

You probably need to mount some tractor/forklift weights on the front. That way when
some drunk ass jumps on the back for a ride it doesn't flip over. You know it will happen!

Yep, I bet

Very nice, this thing is gonna come in handy.

Thanks guys, I admit the carrier is way more than I need but since it was free I wont feel so bad about cutting it up (I had already removed the ramp). I bought some extra blades for my saw and hopefully enough rivets to piece it back together, starting this project in the morning. I'm going to make it big enough for one large cooler.
