and that's what I'm talking about... getting soft in the sunlight... good bed liner should not do that, otherwise what's the point if it just rubs off. Go with some other brand of bed liner and I don't have experience with lizard skin so I can't comment on that....

Yeah, I was surprised at the difference in size between the Marren and the Aeromotive. I wanted to use the Platnium (I think) line of Aeromotive filters but I wouldn't have the room unless I re-did a bunch of lines which means pulling the UIM and I'm just not going to do that right now. If this filter gives me grief, I'll do the biggest they got..... and then strip out everything from the fuel fill to the filter, sodomize it, burn it, and dance on the ashes then replace everything with factory new parts. Except the line, those will be stainless -6 again.

Bah - just learned read up about herculiner not surviving intense heat... makes me second guess using it as the basis for the undercoat. I may just use the lizard skin all over, or maybe a combo of the two... something you may want to share with Alex. Its not that it cant take the heat, but apparently it gets "gooey" and can potentially become flammable when it gets to a liquid like state...

Really? Is herculiner an undercoating or a truck bed liner? Cause while undercoating is naturally kind of gooey, bed liner should hold up MUCH better to heat and not be as much of a problem. I think that if you keep it away from the turbo area, the rest of it should be fine in the exhaust path, it's not like we're running cast iron pipes, just the turbine housing, the rest is thin walled pipe, and cools off rather quick.

Yea - its a truck bed liner and its mainly the areas directly around the turbo and downpipe I'm concerned with.. thats why I'm thinking maybe a combo of lizard skin and herculiner, but honestly - per gallon, lizard skin is cheaper so it may make more sense.

Herculiner is really tough, but supposedly when near intense heat it gets soft... supposedly even in direct sunlight for a few hours it can get a bit "tacky" like a nice racing tire consistency...

This is all from a buddy of mine at the parts store who sells TONS of stuff, he really has no reason to lie, but its not from direct experience, just customers who've told him it...

Interesting.... I'll have to talk to Alex about this. I know he did his research and was torn between a few different brands. The Herculine was only a one part. Personally I would prefer to do a two part. I'll ask him what he found out when he was looking. Something else to consider is just how hot it would honestly get under there? My guess is not very. Maybe what I'll do if I remember is shoot the underside of the car with the lazer temp do-hickey I have and see what some area's are getting up to. If you look at Alex's car, you'll see where the undercoating stops. Really all you would have to worry about is the exhaust tubing, not the turbo area. The thing to do if you're concerned about it is to wrap the entire exhaust with that downpipe wrap. I was able to touch my DP after a few minutes of run time. The mani burned, the center can burned, but the DP was actually pretty cool to the touch.

I'll be PM'ing you shortly. I came up to get my laptop to run a comp test and change a few things in the MAP. I will be more than happy to do it for you. I would suggest though, unless it's going to be completely stock, to mock up everything first. Many things can easily change, for example, you may run a front mount and need to do some trimming. You may want to mount your reg somewhere on the shock tower and need to weld a few nuts to the backside so you can thread right in. Things like that CAN be done, but it's best to do them before paint. Just my thoughts. But seriously, I'd love to get a bunch of cars lined up so we can hit the ground running in Jan. I would love to prep a roller for you so lets chat over the next few days.

You've got so much pace going that I can't keep up! Everytime I check this thread it feels like I've been gone for months!

 That's the beauty/curse of being able to survive on 4 hours of sleep and being more stubborn than a dead mule... or determined.

So anyway - DYNO YESTERDAY!!!!!!! WOOT! and it was successful. Antman turned up for the show, again man, great meeting you, he's got a kickass FC with a bunch of cool little custom parts, which I have a hard-on for. And happy B-day to EJay, and yes, we took a vid. The last run, 4th gear pull. So I need a Youtube acct and I'll post that bitch up for sure.

So, what were the results. Going off the Motec's MAP sensor and not the Autometer boot gauge we were running 160-165 kpa which is about 8.7-9.4lb's of boost. Not alot at all for these turbo's, less than the factory. The first time we dyno'ed back in April we were @ 170-175kpa or about 10.1-10.7 lbs and we made 313 RWHP, impressive. This time we made 329.88 RWHP!! That is fricken INSANE for these turbo's. Who says stock twins can't make power??

The torque climbed all the way to 6800 and the hp didn't start to fall off until ~72-7300.

I'll post the chart probably tomorrow as I am late for a wedding..... I just really wanted to let EJay know that I was finally able to get him his b-day gift

That is great B!

Bet that put a smile down on Dave's face for sure.... guess you had to pay up this time, lol...

When are you going all out for that 15psi pull? Is that going to be later in October or ???

It was great meeting you and to being able to see your car. Very impressed with everything about your car, especially the Motec. Let me know when you're going back to KDR, I'll try and make it there.

izzz sexy tiiiime. Birthday has been a blast so far... except for the fact I have class in 4 hours

Now it seems I'm about to have a small group of stripper friends come to my birthday bbq/drink-a-thon tomorrow.

It's damn linear for sure. The neat thing will be when we get the sequentials working and comparing the non-vs-seq torque/hp <4500. Dave overlaped an FD with my pulls and I'm giving up about 75rwhp below 4500

Yeah I had to pay up, I got no problems with that after the work Dave did. Hell, I even picked up a bottle of Jack Single Barrell for him. I figure one of three things would have happened
Make good power - cause for a drink
Comp test came back bad - cause for a drink
Blow her up on the dyno - cause for a drink

It certainly did put a smile on his face, you can even see it in the vid  I don't know when I'm going back, probably about 2 weeks. Depends on sched and shit.
