The trailer things been done, albeit poorly.... Where's this epic 'vert build..... I may want to see a finished project :suspect:
WOOOOTT!!!! Sooooooooooo gues who just finished work..... yeah, like work work @ 4:00 am..... lesigh.... 22 hrs straight.... 3 hr of sleep, then back to a normal day.... ugh.... |
Why do you even bother going home? you should just take the dogs to work with you so you can feed them and then get some sleep on a boat instead of commuting each way
|
 I'm not sure........

Cool cool.... but where's the build thread?
|
Its in the build thread section i think.
|
As long as it's here and not on the evil club, I won't feel compelled to send someone to terminate your 'vert ;)
|
I sense a short term spike in red bull sales tonight in prep for Thursday :suspect:
|
where are the mother fucking pictures? :dunno:
sorry. I is horny for fabrication pictures. |
I got something better for you if I don't pass out before I get to it

Yeah, so I totally passed out last night before the vid even loaded to youtube
And now I'm off to work so I leave you with these 3 teasers and a short vid for all you STi lovers out there. :puke: http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1309008576 http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1309008576 http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1309008576 I was going to make a cutout for the fan and use some of that mesh material that I used on the hood underneath the vent, but after 90ish miles in the rain at high rates of speed.... as in 114mph down the front strait (see vid and listen for wheel spin in 4th @ ~105-110 :willy_nilly:) and the engine bay being completely dry..... I don't think I'm going too. |
I'm ashamed you haven't powdercoated those parts yet!
Looks pretty damn good though man. Must have had a nice wet day out there. Ironic that a RWD rotary blew off an AWD I-4 on a straight like that. Your traction control working now? |

Lookin good about time we see some action shots. I am willing to bet you run with traction control OFF more than with it on since you learned how to drive before it was available. I turned the TC off on the 8 all winter if the weather was bad I would rather feel it slip a bit than have the powerloss every time I pull out into an intersection. Do you drive the Jeep in the snow mostly in 2WD or 4WD?
|
Looks great. Sucks that it rained for the track day.
The ducting looks great, I like the integration into the undertray. Is that 2.5" ducting? Are you working on a shield to seal up the back sides of the rotors? I wish I had a welder... sigh :( |

they had us guinea pig a couple of compounds, so they will do specials too. we have honda pads with the daytona prototype compound, for example. modulation is better PFC vs carbotechs, wear is incredible we can run the same set of pads for 25 hours straight. wear on the rotors is basically zero. its amazing really, remember when hawk blues were good? |

The nice thing about the MoTeC traction control is that it's "progressive," and I can set it up however I want. So I can allow a certain amount of wheel spin which I think will be beneficial. Eventually I'd like to get comfy enough and get it setup well enough that I can just flat-foot the throttle and let the TC keep the rear somewhat in line while accelerating as hard as possible. |

It is 2.5" ducting, and no I don't have plans to make a dust shield for the rear of the rotors mainly because of the TC wheel and sensor. I'll talk to a few people but my gut is that it won't make that much of a difference. If I was going to get any brake fade, I think I would've gotten it. I was hauling the car from 110-114 down to 48-52 every 80 seconds with a pair of other hard braking zones and this happened for about a 1/2 hr. I could smell the brakes in the car, but they were still the definition of consitant. |

I can't find any application specific notes though. I'm not running stock cali's and wondering cost/availabilty of them |

Brian!!! im alive!!!

Hmm, we went the other way, went away from PF as although the outright power was perhaps slightly higher with PF01's, found them inconsistant with temperature + wet weather, and a lot harder on the rotors than the Carbotechs, we used to suffer with the odd cracked rotor on the PF's that disappeared with the Carbotech pads. If you're on XP8's TT then you should find after your day of track abuse they will have laid down a nice transfer layer on the disc, and pad + disc wear should drop dramatically. |
I really like that undertray
|
what happened to this place? why is it so dead?
|
Brian is MIA, lol...
|
He's out driving the FC and building a trailer.

As for fue rails, go with the CJ motorsports REW primary rail and the extreme Rotaries seconday rail. I likey them very very much. |
hey brian, do you still happen to have the stock calipers we talked about way back when?
fc's back on the road but she needs all new calipers...shes not stopping very well lol and maybe an fd power steering pump and a decent set of twins? lol |
I need to see your new wheel/tire setup!

its my fault ive been MIA for so long, missed u guys, i gotta stop by one day and say hi n catch up, u still want those wiper switches? i found them a month back and brought them to a spot in my house that i see them at all times Quote:

I have a fucking mint set of twins sitting in my garage, series 7 I'm pretty sure, I can't seem to get rid of them 100 + postage if you want em. Came off the rew block I got for my fc, no scratches on the housings and every accessory came off like new. Postage from aus would be the expensive part.

track time is over.. where are those pics?
