I've been debating starting to tear my car down for a full build and paint but alas.... i has no monies.

djmtsu 03-27-2017 09:07 AM

I don't think you need any teardown, just some serious diag on what is causing it not to idle. Can always do a compression test to be sure.

I am having my own issues right now, that best case scenario will cost $40. Worst case, engine out.

Johnny_K 03-27-2017 01:23 PM

^ what is the $40 fix?

New gauge / sending unit.

t_g_farrell 03-28-2017 03:14 PM

Looking like this year will be much bigger than last year. So far 155 cars this year and last year was 133. Plus theres 29 days to go!

It would be interesting to see the year by year attendance of people and cars since it started. I know the current web page is showing 2017 and 2016.

estevan62274 03-28-2017 04:21 PM

^Thats funny you mention this, I finally stop procrastinating and registered today.

reddozen 03-28-2017 04:31 PM

yea, I don't really have the data from the old site. I changed how all the tables worked with the update so nothing is compatible. Biggest year was about 360 people.

t_g_farrell 03-29-2017 07:21 AM

Too bad. Most interested in the count and variety of cars. Can't wait!

The old version lumped everything that wasn't an RX7 or RX8 into "old school" so still wouldn't help a lot.

rx7 vinnie 03-29-2017 11:39 AM

I'm heading out of Nashville on Friday at noon.

estevan62274 03-29-2017 04:19 PM

Speaking of who's coming..... I can't wait to check out that SLC 3rotor :drool5::drool5::drool5:

djmtsu 03-30-2017 09:22 AM

Guys, spread the word.

I am selling a MINT 12A. It is broken down, but complete, including Apex seals that are very much resuable. This engine came in my white Cosmo, and was installed by Mazda at some point in time. I removed it to swap a 13B back in, and broke it down to check the condition. It is amazing inside.

I have a FS thread on the DGRR Facebook page with pics. I can bring it to DGRR, and prefer not to ship.

estevan62274 04-12-2017 12:09 PM

Been quite around here... everyone must be getting the rotaries ready :auto:

djmtsu 04-12-2017 12:30 PM

Put a different engine in the Cosmo this past Monday, due to sudden oil pressure issues.

This car hates me.

reddozen 04-12-2017 12:52 PM

Naaa I gave up... MR2 it is this year...

t_g_farrell 04-12-2017 02:54 PM

New brewery to hit up in Bryson!!!

Jer2911 04-12-2017 08:46 PM

I normally don't post here, I just usually troll the DGRR and Tennessee threads. My daughter and I attended the event last year and it was our first time. The Middle Tennessee club took us in and were most enjoyable to be around and am looking forward to seeing them again. I tried to post a couple of pics to show where I'm at currently but haven't figured out how to yet... anyway as it stands today, my daughter's car is still in the body shop and I just received her engine from BHR. I was able to put the engine on the stand after work so I will begin the reassembly process tomorrow or Friday. I see Redd bailed, but I'm going to continue to fight until the 25th if that's what it requires. I personally am super excited about the challenge in front of me, it makes me feel like part of the rotary family...stress and all.

Get it done Lance!!!!

Looking forward to seeing you guys again!

reddozen 04-13-2017 08:26 AM

Yea, I changed direction last minute on my body kit, and my body guy had a death in his family, so that lost a weekend. It happens. It'll look good when it's done.

estevan62274 04-13-2017 09:37 AM

Getting nervous

I'm still plugging away with the 4, hope to button up the lose ends and first start it up this weekend.
Then street tune and finish some little detail items.

I'm cutting it close :banghead::banghead:

Jer2911 04-14-2017 11:03 AM

Well I guess since I've been commanded by DJ I don't have a choice:cheers2:

I don't have the authority to command anyone!!! Especially not you!

But I do hope you get them both buttoned up for DGRR! Still coming Wednesday?

t_g_farrell 04-14-2017 02:31 PM

Might be crowded out there. They posted DGRR as having 61 and we know its up to 166. So I expect these other numbers to be low as well.

24 Toyota Supra/Celica Rally

27 S2000 Rock the Dragon

17 Subaru Boxer takeover

2 F-Bodies Tame the Dragon

Last but most feared:

19 Stang Driven

estevan62274 04-14-2017 03:00 PM

^ lol... in before the flood of mustang memes :302:

Jer2911 04-14-2017 10:24 PM

Yes sir, planning on a 5-6pm arrival. Put some paint to the engine tonight. I'll let it cure and paint again tomorrow and clean more parts. The body shop has been closed until Monday so no pressure there lol. The alternator shop has had the parts on order to repair but no news from there either. Not much to do without a car...
Still haven't figured out the key fob crap yet either...I'm such a slacker
See you guys soon
Lance

Rebuilt it?

djmtsu 04-21-2017 08:29 AM

It has been rebuilt about 500 miles ago, had to replace the front cover o-ring.

t_g_farrell 04-26-2017 07:29 AM

Keep an eye out for workers on the gap.

Motorists should expect delays amid ongoing utility work along U.S. Highway 129, known as The Dragon, in Blount County.

Utility linemen will be repairing lines along the popular, twisty route near Calderwood Dam through Friday, April 28, according to the Blount County Sheriff's Office.

"Please be aware and mindful of the linemen, as well as Blount County deputies who will be assisting with traffic," according to the Sheriff's Office.

Great time at DGRR, good to see some old friends and meet new ones!
That rotary golf cart was sweet and so was that r100 :icon_tup: :cheers2:
The 4 made it there and back with no significant issues.
