MotoTek 07-14-2008 12:51 PM

Hey Kevin,

I guess I'm going to wait the 5 weeks to get a kit I won't have to do any work on. I do have some questions however:

+When do we find out our savings on early deposits?
+Are the pieces coming primerd already?
+Do you guys accept any other form of payment? I'd not like to waist a hundred and some odd dollars on paypal fees when I can send you guys a check and wait for it to clear.

This is what I'm looking for, I don't need the extra lil canards and stuff right now.
Front and Rear Fenders, Side Steps, Front bumper, CF Undersweep, CF Hood.
What would grand total be on that since there's not a package price for it.

Its going to be more than 5 weeks...5 weeks is more when the first samples get here that will be test fitted to see what needs to be modified in the molds so that no further work will need to be done on them...Dont know how long it will be untill those ones are done.

MotoTek 07-15-2008 12:58 PM

Alright, I guess I'll get the preliminary molds then. haha I can't leave the car in the body shop that long, they just started sanding it down today and doing some other stuff, so let me know asap when I get get the stuff I need. =D

MotoTek 07-17-2008 10:28 AM

Anyone know what wheel sizes we can run with this kit yet?
I was thinking 18x10 front and 11 rear.

CarbonFD 07-17-2008 02:25 PM

Im running 18x10 in the tront +35 offset and in the rear im running 18x10.5 with a +15 offset... I could fit more in the back with the right off set but they don't make my rims any wider than that. I went for weight instead of size my rims are only 18lbs at that size.

Update:

Right now, the factory is finishing up the last couple molds and starting the production on the sample parts. Since some customers have mentioned that they prefer the front fenders with the gaps, here is the current status. Our mold does not have the gap yet since the original RE-A kit does not have the gap. The factory will need at least 15-20 days to modify the mold to obtain the gap. What I mean by modify is they will have to produce a set of sampling fenders with the current mold then modify the sampling fenders to obtain the gaps then make another set of molds out of the newly modified fenders. This is to ensure the quality of the modification.

So we would like to get some opinions from our customers and see if you guys still want the gap. If so, then the whole process will have to be delayed by at least 15-20 days.

Please let us know what everyone thinks! Thanks!

CarbonFD 07-20-2008 05:16 AM

I dont think after waiting for so long 15-20 days is very much to ensure the quality of the product and it is to the exact liking of each buyer. I have a question though... Once they do that will they have to make a new mold? So in reality you could choose if you wanted gapped of un-gapped?

Chris

JKL Racing Engineering 07-20-2008 11:53 AM

yes, that way there will be two options. But we prefer to only supply the un-gapped original version if not majority of the people want the gapped version. It's because the time, work, and cost. Since the fenders come in pair, we will have to produce two new molds instead of just one. So the cost of the two new molds will have to be covered somehow so that will affect the amount of additional discount we can offer as we promised. Again, it's all up to you guys.

deposit sent.

FadedFD 07-27-2008 08:08 PM

Gap all the way. I know I will own this kit by next year thats why :) Hopefully my vote counts. That's as long as the structural integrity isn't compromised by less material.

Herblenny 07-28-2008 01:40 PM

Do you guys have the RE undersweep for 02 N1 bumper??

JKL Racing Engineering 07-28-2008 01:55 PM

Hey Phil, naw, we have the 05 version, haha.

Gap for me as well.

MotoTek 08-02-2008 12:25 AM

JKL, think the CF Hood's will be done before 7stock?

JKL Racing Engineering 08-02-2008 01:14 AM

We are aiming for that date. We should be able to make it if nothing major happens during the production. :)

MotoTek 08-02-2008 09:44 AM

Sweet. You guys are awsome.
BTW, what does the staff of JKL drive? FD's?

JKL Racing Engineering 08-02-2008 10:20 AM

yep, we are all on the forums and all FD owners. :D

MotoTek 08-02-2008 02:04 PM

you guys going to roll down to sevenstock with the caravan? I posted up info in the west section.

JKL Racing Engineering 08-02-2008 02:25 PM

We probably won't have time to go down there this year but we will see if we could find some people to represent us there with some of our products on their cars. We still don't know for sure as of now. We would really like to show up if we can make it. :)

If you are going, maybe you can help us promote our products as well? :D

MotoTek 08-02-2008 02:36 PM

Let me know, I'm down. :icon_tup:

MotoTek 08-14-2008 08:07 PM

KaiFD3S 09-24-2008 12:24 PM

Looks good, how is the fitment...

CarbonFD 09-24-2008 05:03 PM

Overall fitment is very good... Gaps front the fedners to the hood are good as well as fenders to hood... In the picture the bumper to hood looks a bit off but thats becasue I have not mounted the center section yet... Everything went one pretty easy nothing really gave me any problems minus the rear which is a pian becasue you have to take off the rear bumper...

Kevin my carbon fiber fender add-ons will not work for me. The way it was molded seems that the edges aren't at a 90 degree angles, making it look extremely bad when mounted. I'm hoping that I can send the ones I have back to you, and maybe get some new ones made.

I think that if you made the top part of them another .5 - 1 inch higher than I can modify them myself to fit properly. I think over all that would work better for the final production...... because all these parts are going to fit differently on everyone's car. They aren't identical.

Also, if it's up to you buy I think you should make the molds thicker. Right now they can't be sanded down to get rid of bumps without going all the way though.

I think that the fenders would line up just fine without having to adjust the door and the hood except that the seam on the frame of the car (inside the engine bay) where the fender sits on top of makes it so you can put it down all the way. Maybe RE-Amemiya shaved this part off? I just refuse to cut anything off the car, so this will be adjusted.

Over all GREAT PRODUCT!

A lot of the problems I've encountered can easily be fixed by any knowledgeable autobody specialist. Kevin, please contact me about the CF fender add-ons.

Racing hart 11-06-2008 03:10 PM

Hi, Kevin. I am also interested in the AD-GT Full Package Basic (FRP).
My question is since you don't tend to make the 02 version bumper, I would like to get a carbon fiber front bumper and paint the top will end like the 02
one. How much more will be add to the Package if I want to do that?

MotoTek 11-07-2008 02:32 AM

I should have done that too. Wonder if it's to late? kevin? :coolgleamA::dunno:

CarbonFD 11-10-2008 12:47 PM

Thats why I got mine... :)

Chris

Racing hart 11-25-2008 03:18 AM

deposit sent!!
I have change my mind, since I only paint it black, I think I just need the FRP
front bumper not the carbon fiber. What is the time frame of this one?
I have participe other group. It takes me six month and I still haven't received
my rear seat kit of my fd?? I hope it wouldn't take that long.

Thank you.

JKL Racing Engineering 11-25-2008 11:09 AM

No we promise that it won't take that long since we are almost done with the production, even with your new order added, it won't take that long to complete. :D

MotoTek 12-03-2008 10:36 AM

Kevin, I got your voicemail. Sorry I missed your calls. My dumb "smart phone" didn't say anything about having missed calls. Thanks for taking the time to look up that stuff for me. I found a guy here in sac that does it as well. Actually, meeting up with him this morning.

We're going to pull the rear quarters as well + add the rear fender flares. Shooting for some 18x12 wheels with some 315 tires in the rear, but i doubt it. We'll see. :cheers2:

BTW, the new logo design looks sweet.
