By his HP and weight of the car, he should break into 9s.

By prediction if he has traction, I say he will trap close to 140 (high 130s) and closely into 9s (10.2).

Too much pressure!!!!!!! Most people do not realize how much harder it gets to make a pass (in a IRS-stock tranny rx7) when your car starts making good power. I will be happy to go 10.7 or quicker.... for now...LOL......

What makes it so much harder? I just started building my car and was wondering what you thought about what i asked.

Compared to when I was making less power (300-400).. Didnt have to worry about over powering it out of the hole, was easier to make the shifts, didnt climb thru the rpms so fast. On top of all that keeping it strait!

What are your goals on your build?

Caim 05-24-2009 12:52 AM

Well i just want to have a fun street car... Nothing crazy. I do all my own work and this is what i have came up with.

Sorry to kinda jack the thread....

This is the progression of turbos that i have been through.

http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h8.../newturbo2.jpg

That was before i did alot of little things to the engine bay. But that is a garret gt37r with a medium street port... Nothing special. I tune it myself as well so i am taking my time with everything. Just getting an idea of what it takes to make a solid 450 to 500 hp car that will last more then a month hahahaha.

I am going to make a build thread so people can see what i have done, but i have just been to lazy lately hahaha.

sk8world 05-24-2009 04:47 PM

Looks good... What is the current turbo? Looks to be big enough.. I think people over rate the 500rwhp daily driver thing. I drove mine everyday last week to work I just run a pump gas map and stay 16-17psi. So far so good except I sucked ass at the track this weekend. Went there looking for a 6.6-6.7 slip and couldnt break 7.0??? Not really sure what the issue was..

On IFO I have not decided if I am driving down Sat. night or Sunday early. Want to be at the gates by 9-9:30 and its a 3.5 to 4 hour so that means leaving here by 5-5:30 am... I am a night owl.....

Don, if you are racing get those tires ordered and you need to register today to get in free for the 200 mile distance.
See you guys in b-ham or at the track..

Caim 05-24-2009 08:01 PM

It is a gt37r garret twin scroll with a 1.2 ar hot side. Yeah, i have the bike like you can see in the siq, but my car is the only... well... car that i have. So i have been driving that alot too. It is right at 15psi right now. But i want to bump that up to about 16 or 17 soon. I have not been to the track with it yet because i am waiting on tires for the car. But it is fun for the most part.

I am coming from p cola florida and i am leaving the morning of the event and we have a 3 hour drive i think. But it is not that bad. But i cant wait to meet a lot of you guys and talk it up.

Phil, i think i have dale coming from here with me. So it should be a good time with all of us.

Done...

Herblenny 05-25-2009 12:25 AM

Dale is going?? Sweet!! I haven't seen him in over a year!

JyRO 05-26-2009 08:14 AM

Phil,

I'm emailing / calling TC and will drag him along. He's making progress on his car. Should be able to drive it the 15 to 20 miles to the dragstrip. He's getting about 40 miles per gallon ... of engine coolant, so he should have enough capacity to make it! :D

Herblenny 05-26-2009 08:35 AM

JyRO,

I think TC is coming up here today.. He wanted me to take a look at his car.. This weekend looks to have a great weather.. Thank GOD! As its been shitty every weekend..
