Yeah, you and me both!! I really wanna see her moving under her own power again. Unfortunately though... I don't expect that to be happening until the end of winte and/or beginning of spring. Once I'm done with it (install and put everything back in the bay) it's heading up to Brian for a full on face lift. New ECU, new wiring harness, replacing the front body harness, replacing/integrating the dash harness, battery relocation, Fuel Surge tank, new Water Injection system, etc., etc. I figure that will only take a month or so, but I've still gotta come up with the money to pay him, and then get the break in done and the power tune added. This car has turned into a long(er) term endeavor  I'm thinking my next plate will be a custom one that either reads "CURSED" or "SOVREGN" (Sovereign being the evil sentient ship from the Mass Effect games.. the one that warps the mind of it's occupants into doing what it wants despite their intentions ) |
Congrats on your first solo stack Levi!
Thanks!! :awesome:
Though, it wasn't COMPLETELY solo... since I did have Bianca come help with the center iron. First time she's ever hinted at complaining when I told her to grab ahold of my oiled up shaft and pull on it.. She looked at me like I was an asshole, but she still did it  Ahh... I've got a good wife...:lol::lol: |
So.... the weather is getting a bit better and I spent the afternoon in the garage yesterday. I got the front stack put together (about .002" end play) and reassembled. Getting the gear on the oil pump probably took more time than everything else combined yesterday!! That damned woodruff key kept sliding out, finally I just crazy glued the bitch in place!
I didn't put the oil pan on yet, gunna wait a moment on that to be sure the temperature isn't going to plummet again (I'd rather let it cure in 40-50 degrees or higher). That... and I want to finish thoroughly cleaning the contact surface for the oil pan, as well as clean the shit out of all the pan bolts. I pulled my fuel rails and injectors out (those are going to a buddy for temporary use up to and including DGRR) and gave them a wipe down, test fit the new (to me) TD61 turbo, and broke out some of the goodies that have been hiding in shipping boxes all winter. http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/k...psk5dbiuaa.jpg http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/k...psqg0vig3n.jpg http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/k...psrw3n2taq.jpg http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/k...psqr1fstra.jpg |
Nice...
Thanks Cheebs. I need to get this rolling again so it'll be ready to go up to Brian..
Looking really good.
Moar pics of TD61 and rear oil return breather :suspect:
I'll snag more pics when I get home today Brian.
Yay!
Oh look... ass shots. Can we see the front more please???? Oh and turbo, more turbo...that's the money shot...

Are you worried about melting your LIM?
Did it come with Reeses Pieces ?
Melting my LIM???
Not particularly  It's not installed here, but I've got a LIM blanket, plus my LIM is ceramic coated. Even without the Blanket though, there is a decent gap between the hotside and the LIM. It's not massive by any means, but it's enough to have regular airflow between the two surfaces. |
