Can that rubber hosing take gas on the outside of it? I know some rubbers get eaten up when summered in gas

Holy multiple fittings BATMAN! Just fab a simpler setup! You know you want to. It will just nag at you until you do it.

You could easily make a single fitting on a lathe. I might even be able to design it up on Autodesk for you ;)

2gslse 06-07-2010 08:41 PM

If the pump in the pics is going to feed the surge tank why bother running the line out the top and not directly into the surge tank?(troubleshooting later???)

Mobius 06-07-2010 08:57 PM

I would hazard a guess that when/if you need to pull the pump, it's much easier, cleaner, safer to undo the line to the surge tank while it is outside the tank. As opposed to trying to undo fittings inside the tank.

Yes it can. And for all of you wondering the Aeromotive push-to-fit barb type hose can as well. The exterior is the same material as the interior so it can be submergered. You'll see pics of that tomorrow...... hopefully.

 If you wanna hook me up I'll DEFINATELY take one. It needs to go from a -6 female to a 5/16" barb. The 5/16 barb is the problem. If it was a 3/8" I could do it with one fitting but it's that fucking 5/16" think that sucks balls.

I thought about that but then I would need to take the pump out and disconnect it from the feed line submerged in the tank. I thought if I ran it on the top, things would be easier. Also welding fittings on a round while possible is more difficult. And if I can't stand the Bosch pump again, I can run just the denso by swapping some outside lines while I wait for a new bigger denso to drop in and if that happens I am going to smash the bosch, then pee on it, light it on fire, pee on it, hit it with my BFH, pee on it, then mabye blow it up somehow. Then sell it to someone on the evil forum with drift, slidez, etc in his user name as slightly used.

This is also very true:icon_tup:

Aight ladies, I'm back behind the TIG mask for another 2 hrs or so. Hopefully get the whole thing welded up tonight with the exception of the fittings on the cartridge for the Bosch

I need some dimensions. I can do the female -AN easy enough, what about the dimensions for the barb fitting?

meh, not exactely what you're thinking.....

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo with the exception of the filler tube, the mother's all welded up.... YEAH BIOTCH! about 2.5 hrs of welding and almost as much time spent cleaning the material becuase of all the humidity we've had lately.... really messes shit up. Pretty sure I had some moisture in the hoses as well :banghead: Oh well, on with the pix

Good pic of the sender. The top warped slightly, had to brace it from the inside to weld it shut then reach in and remove the brace

Last one. Tomorrow ...... no wait, this morning when I wake up the filler tube goes on, hopefully ready to pressure test by the afternoon and then when I get home, wire some fuel pumps, build some straps and fire the girl off......... FINALLY.
