Yup, that's pretty much the running joke that we have, "why couldn't we collect stamps instead."

The answers range from, "boost gets you laid," to "stamps don't arouse me," "you can't take a woman for a ride on a stamp," etc etc etc. I like my boats too. The over powered surfboard type scream across in the water 1/2 the time @ 60+mph..... it's a shame that everything fun is so damn expensive. Oh well, what can ya do? Back to work on the hood.

So I finally bought a new camera.... I should actually have some pics up later tonight. Joe can have a look and mock my blocking abilities

Needs alot more work, but I wanted to play with the cheapo $129 Nikon..... not bad. I'ma have to play around with some video in the near future. For now though, the pics will have to suffice ;)

Like everything else you do, it looksvery high quality. I should have you make my FB into a bad ass mid-life-crisis-mobile like your FC . I'm jealous.

EJayCe996 08-11-2009 01:55 PM

ah, atihun style eh?

MaczPayne 08-11-2009 02:03 PM

Jesus, that looks menacing!

WE3RX7 08-11-2009 08:17 PM

We really should stop hanging around the same forum - I have the same stock SE seat (color and all) sitting in my garage too :)

Nice looking hood... start welding/grinding/filling already geez....

Hells yeah, always been my favorite. And if I'm gonna build one, as opposed to waiting around for Ken..... sorry but I don't have the patience..... it's gonna be for my car, ducted directly to the intercooler etc etc etc.

I'm actually thinking about taking it to a local fiberglass shop owned by a member of the evil forum who has been trying to get his acquaintances atihun hood for quite some time and for a fee + a clip of the profits, letting him pull a mold from mine. We'll see though

Thanks Johnson. Come to DGRR '10 and see it for yourself ;) Dying to see your car too. Nader and Mike are planning on attending again and we had a hell of a time this year.

Before the banquet while Tray was helping me with the filter he said something interesting, he said, "I hope this doesn't discourage you from come down again next year." My reply was simple, "ABSOLUTELY NOT! I've had an amazing time and by next year I should hopefully have all these little issues sorted out and actually be able to enjoy the car as opposed to working on her." All the time and effort was worth it to get down there to enjoy the cars, the event and the company....... and Tray grabbing my ass to wake me up in the morning.... that was probably the highlight. I will definately be back next year and actually have some plans for the car over the winter. Nothing drastic, but a few things. A new 6-spd tranny is one thing for the winter.

Epic story, is it wierd that I actually liked troubleshooting your car lol?

I keed, I keed. Chasing you around was quite a lot of fun actually.

Meant to mail you framed versions of both of these awhile back, the reason I asked for your adress way back, but never got around to it. I've got both of these in their 50billionX50billon pixlel size on a disk if you want 'em.

There's a container of them in the car now

Yeah, I'm an old bastard. I was actually getting alot of shit about it over the walkies. There was one instance where we were getting off the highway, I was running 3'rd behind the FD who was behind the honduh, the honda made some smart ass comment about being old and slow so I dropped a gear or two, went roaring around the FD on the exit ramp, lite them up through the left hander onto the intersection to get around the honda and into the gas station first..... AJ (Duffman) in his FB bringing up the rear made some comment like, "what a jackass. Look at the old bastard in his midlife crisis mobile." I lol'ed, can't win for losing.

Getcha a pair of those mazda pillows, lol. Mine came from Ebay.:icon_tup:

Ahahaha, I had completely forgotten about that. Good times...

Interestingly enough..... shipping a car and flying to get it vs driving it out there are about the same cost when you add everything up. Hotels were the deal breaker. I'm too old to stay in anything but Marriots, Hiltons etc. so that was ~$400 each way right there less I wanted to hook up with some BAW'lers along the way... which I wouldn't mind at all..... hrm... so with some proper planning driving may actually be cheaper. Shipping was ~$800 each way, gas would be ~$550, plus food, stops, hotels, etc, days off from work have a cost... blah blah blah....

When are you heading east  Just ask AJ, as long as you like big dogs, I got beds

My home is open to you anytime, just say the word.

Your dogs are awesome, they're like big ol' teady bears.

Hard to imagine any of 'em being capable of that, well maybe the husky male, I forget his name but he had that look in his eyes.

Haha, ass... Remeber when I told you that Alan's AE is one of the only two FC's I like or would ever own? Well this is the second. ;)

I give up on the multi-quoting.

When we were leaving DGRR Shar (the guy that drove from San Fran decided to join us heading back to NY) and we told AJ jokingly he should join, he actually did! Spent a night at my place, rode around in the FC a bunch, funny, after I pulled on him relentlessly on the highway the smack talk has stopped ;) AJ's good people though, helped me out a bunch with the FC while everyone else was drinking themselves gay, and not BAW gay either.

Don't tempt a man with unlimited vacation time and an insatiable appetite for travel.

You were having such a hard time with the car at DGRR that I thought I'd toss you a bone and let you have a few 'victory' pulls on me. I'd have hated to see you after gettin' waxed by the ol' FB, talk about losing some of that 'sandy blond' locks. :D There were soooo many times that I could have just cruised away from you on the Dragon but I restrained myself.

AJ get's on the walkie and makes a comment, something along the lines of, "look @ that old dude in his mid-life crisis mobile." :lol2:

Not 5 minutes later at the gas stop someone was galking over all the cars so we decide to give him a show........... funny, the mid-life crisis mobile was the only one that could smoke 'em at all let alone through 2 gears. FWD hondah, automatic FD, and lack of hp FB

Haha, now that's not true and you know it. My lil FB managed to break 'em lose coming off that side street. She'll burn through first and through a bit of second, I may not have the horsepower you've got but at least I can say that I'm still on my FIRST engine. or at least the first one I've built.:fawk:

Wow, that hood came out very very nicely. Looks better than most "professional" made hood.

My car's nothing special, and doesn't even come close to the quality of yours! It's not pretty, but it's been very reliable to me over the years, on and off the track. I should have some more goods on it by the next RR, hopefully :) I can't wait to graduate and finally build financial capital. Can't wait to drive the Tail!
