Update: paint round 2!
Brought a fender to the paint supply shop to have it matched. The color isn't perfect but it's close enough. Under fluorescent lights you can tell it's a little darker still, but under the sun it looks damn near spot on. As with last time props to Brian for laying down the paint. http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...2&d=1471875785 http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...3&d=1471875806 http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...4&d=1471875822 http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...5&d=1471875857 http://www.rotarycarclub.com/rotary_...1&d=1471875977 |

It's been a while, but we put the holiday weekend to good use!
I got my built/blue printed trans from Speed 1 and got it all cleaned/painted and ready to install. http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1484668996 Did a lot of powder coating this weekend as well. Once the ABS is installed you will pretty much never see this penetration plate, but the little details make me happy, and I really like how this came out. http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1484668603 Modified (to give clearance for wiring harness) and powder coated ABS bracket. http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1484668603 Got the tranny, brake booster, master cylinder, ABS, and lines installed then it was ready to put the engine in! http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1484668603 Looks so small in there! http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1484668603 As usual I gotta thank Brian for all the help, hard work, and long hours! :cheers2: |

Got the radiator and oil coolers installed. Unfortunately I'm going to have to change the position of the AN fittings on the radiator. I didn't account for the AC compressor when I mocked it up :( Two steps forward one step back, but what can you do. The brace is there to simulate hood clearance.
http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1484669491 Finished the intercooler cold side piping (added Tial BOV, and welded the vanjen clamp on the Greddy elbow) and installed the intercooler. http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1484669075 http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1484669075 http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1484669075 I have to say I really like the way it sits and looks without the bumper and with all the heat exchangers staring you in the face. So raw and mechanical! http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...1&d=1484669075 |
Looking GOOD!!!!

I have to say that, again, I love this color. The rest just looks like a whole lot of hassle and a waste of time.
For real, though. This build is top notch and I am ready to see it operating under its own power... and in person. Great looking build and the work going into it shows through. |
