I made my own holders, it'll be done right.

TitaniumTT 07-13-2009 06:05 AM

I buillt my own intank holder and ther simply wasn't enough room to pad the damn thing. With the padding it would've been too wide to fit into the tank without cutting the top piece out and rewelding a mounting flange on the top of the tank. Not my idea of fun.

What I might do over the winter is mount the Bosch externally under the car and use a -10 hardline from the tank to the bosch. A surge line if you will. Or maybe just mount a surge tank in the quarter well, or the tire well, I dunno. Still up in the air. I need to see what yours sound like when padded properly and finished.

Pickin up Cryo'ed parts tomorrow - WOOT!

Wow... that fuel pump would drive me absolutely nuts.... I would want to rip it out and break it.

Rip it out, hell fuck yeah. I don't know about breaking a $200 fuel pump though when they're pretty silent just sitting on the old workbench

That noise destroys my calm to such a degree I would frankenstien it for the sole benefit of something awesome that can be used with better affect.... maybe a rotating assembly to bounce microwave radiation around the outside of the car causing radar interference. Maybe using it as a DC motor to control intake runner length... so many things to use a motor like that for besides driving me nuts!

MaczPayne 07-14-2009 10:29 AM

Wow, now that's noisy! Turn up the music :)

TitaniumTT 07-14-2009 07:35 PM

boost is my music ;)

Picked up the parts from Dave today...... mmmmmmmmmmm beautiful. Dave is the man, that is all. Grabbing a new feeler gauge tomorrow morning and with any luck will have a shortblock tomorrow night. WOOT! New fast acting thermo-probes (plural) ordered as well as a few misc parts needed.

pics to follow as always

Oh yeah, appt set with Dave for the first dyno session on this engine for Aug 1. We'll be running NS and WG again so looking for 310 - 320 RWHP. Engine #2 made 313 @ 7k. Then I'll start horsing around with the sequential stuff and datalogging a bunch of shite so by mid Aug we can up the boost, the revs, and shoot for 400.

WE3RX7 07-14-2009 09:12 PM

I want to see 400... dont waste our time w/ that 310-320 bs :)

Seriously though, good news... cant wait to see the beast again...

Meh, we figure we'll start off light  I figure 700-1000 miles of breakin, do the initial tune, capture some data and then go back and up the boost and revs when the engine is fully seated.

Parts!
