Any Updates?!

jtbshaw 06-17-2008 09:03 AM

Just waiting on the dash. We have taken more work in so it will still be a week or so before I can even get an estimate of cost and timeframe. As soon as I have the dash, I'll update the thread.

My dash has broken clips up where the front part (right by the windshield) snaps on. So annoying...

djmtsu 06-17-2008 09:33 AM

Sorry guys, I have been busy and haven't brought it to work yet. The wife also is out of town this week and has the Grand Cherokee. I am going to try to get it out of my attic myself and see if it will fit in the Mazda3. If so, it will go out potentially tomorrow.

Thanks for being patient.

Phoenix7 06-17-2008 10:40 AM

no worries man, thanks for hooking it up.

jtbshaw 06-18-2008 11:17 PM

Sounds good, DJ. We are finally catching up with these Evo orders so we can get on this within a day or so as soon as I get it. Not making any promises, but we'll see what we can do with it and update everyone of our findings and costs.

Mikal 07-03-2008 02:35 AM

Updates?

jtbshaw 07-03-2008 08:57 AM

Haven't received the dash from DJ yet. As soon as I get my hands on it, I'll get a couple of my composite guys on it and see if we can make this happen.

djmtsu 07-03-2008 11:32 AM

Blame me, I'm the asshat. I PROMISE it will go Monday.

:o10:

NolimitInd is in the Bay Area, California, right??

djmtsu 07-03-2008 12:04 PM

Alabama.

Close by me, should only take a day or so to get there.

Phoenix7 07-03-2008 12:07 PM

I'm thinking of somebody else? :dunno: either way, i'm looking forward to some news on this. Thanks in advance to everyone who is involved. I've been wanting something like this for a long time.

As DJ clarified, we are in Alabama. Some of our products are being sold there in your area at Always Under Pressure, which is a dealer for some of our products.

As soon as I get the dash, I will post up. Give me a week or so and I should have everything I need to quote pricing and availability, or....if this will even be feasible.

Phoenix7 07-16-2008 07:11 PM

Depending on whether this project can be completed or not, I'd like to feature it as a NEW Product from you guys in the RCC mag.

Thanks for looking into it. If you end up making it, you will have made my car one step closer to what I envision!

jtbshaw 07-16-2008 08:24 PM

Thanks for the positive comments, those are always good to hear!!!

I haven't received the dash from DJ yet. As soon as I do, I'll post that it has been received. Right now, we are back logged about two weeks worth of work, so it would be about 3-4 weeks from receiving till I had some good answers.

Phoenix7 07-16-2008 08:40 PM

don't worry about time frame, I'm not one to be impatient when it comes to things like that. If you see me bumping this thread it's to attract interest, not to rush you in any way.

I neeeeeeed a new dash. If mine wasn't all cracked up and missing parts I'd have torn it out of the car and sent it by now. :(

djmtsu 07-17-2008 01:32 PM

Ahh...the plight that is my world. The Body Computer in my Jeep Grand Cherokee is dead. And I just figured out YESTERDAY how to unlock the rear tailgate without the switches or keyless working!! So now that is fixed, and the dash IS out of the attic, lets see if we can get this thing the fuck outta my house!!!!!!!!!!

In other words- Sorry for the delay.

I can see it now. Phoenix, quote juice and copy paste the url into your browser.

Phoenix7 08-18-2008 04:39 PM

any news? I gave up hope of getting anything remotely ready for 7stock but any new developments?

jtbshaw 08-19-2008 08:57 AM

I don't have the dash assembly yet. Although, my son & I picked up a TII this weekend. This will be a project car for he & I to build together. He's 9 and wants to build this so that it will be something he likes when he turns 16. I say all of that to say...since I have 7 years to complete this project, I could possibly pull this dash and try to get a template to see if we can build the replacement for a decent cost.

Please do! :D Your son will enjoy his FG dash as well! You know he already wants one. :)

Phoenix7 08-19-2008 11:59 AM

My plan is to finish the car and tease my future kids with the keys. See that car? It's yours but not right now. The keys are hidden somewhere until your 18th B-day (yeah, I chose 18 instead of 16 based on my experiences).

Good luck man and thanks for hooking it up.

Phoenix7 09-16-2008 05:50 PM

you guys want a deposit? I really want this made. I don't really have a time-frame for it but I want you to know I'm serious enough to send you a deposit.

jtbshaw 09-16-2008 09:23 PM

I appreciate the offer phoenix, but I'm not one to take money when I have no time frame as to when something will be completed. The TII I referenced above is sitting in the parking lot, but we have been too covered up with orders to take the time to pull it. I still haven't received anything from DJ. We are getting ready to relocate into a larger facility, I have a business trip to make, and orders are still coming in for current product lines.

I am interested in making this for your guys, but I just need a little time. I am also down to a two man team for the moment. I have hired fresh help that actually wants to work, instead of who no longer works with us. The new team members won't start for a few more weeks though.

Again, I appreciate the offer Phoenix.....just give me a little time. Things should start to settle down as the holiday season starts approaching and we should have some time to work on this.

Todd B.

Phoenix7 09-16-2008 09:48 PM

Much appreciated. I was not trying to hurry you at all, just showing I'm serious and get more people aware of the thread. Congrats on the new place too. How have the Evo DPs been doing?

djmtsu 09-17-2008 06:31 AM

Do you want to wait until you are at your new facility to ship? Let me know as I was getting back on this.

Sorry guys, alot of things have happened around here at work lately. Nothing bad, just a transition!!.

 You'll hurt your fist!

Seriously, this will be an interior piece that is sure to get people interested and I'm glad someone will look into this in the future. We need more companies like this to continue making innovative items for the community.
