Another thing is, if the opening isn't wide enough its because the end of the sloped section is below that inner "lip" of the front side of the vent. If JLK modded it by trimming away some of the slope so that its square the opening would more than likely be just as large.

damn, well I like the GK hood due to price (which should decrease initial GB price, right?). How is everyone else feeling about it?
|
I am not sure if I understanding which lip you are referring to but the slope of the front lip portion is actually there for a purpose. That slope is aerodynamically guiding more air flow into the opening. If we cut too much of it flat, there will be less air moving into the opening.
BTW, we are not very familiar with GK products, any more info on that brand? |

That GK vent definitely looks smaller than the Pan Speed vent. |
I'd love the vent to be as large as the radiator to allow for ducting to maximize the heat expulsion.
Woot woot for big words! |
The Panspeed vent is huge. I could probably tear down half the longblock and remove the radiator without ever opening the hood.

Also, anyone got more info on GK? Thanks! |

The Pan Speed setup is more like this:

Well, EXCUUUUUSE the hell out of me for not liking how crappy my curves were and just straight lining everything
|
I would inter in either. What would be the price difference between the to hoods?
|
LoL! I just wanted to show how the vent kinda dips into the hood. I'm gonna try to stop by the body shop where my car is at today. I'll try to snap some pics of the hood if I can.
|
Pics would be awesome.

How wide does the front fender have to be to put a 9" wheel in the front?

what size tire are you looking for? most people run 255's under wide FG fenders, altho you can fit them under stock fenders with a lot of camber and a good offset. Quote:

I have 18x9 +38 275s in the rear and 18x8 +38 225s in front. I don't think I need a 275 in front, just wondering if I would need a 20 or 30mm wide fender to fit my current wheel/offset. |
