The problem with each and every one of those hoods is the only thing they would be good for is maybe scavenging engine bay heat.

Im looking for a hood that I can duct directly with my intercooler to use vacuum to pull air through the core. I don't really see any of those doing that very well.

Most of them just look JDM Drift yo!

I'm still pretty keen on the Garage Kagotani hood (The one the 600hp SuperNow! Time Attack FC runs and everyone thinks is a Panspeed hood), they're inexpensive in comparison to similar hoods (yes, shipping will be a killer still), come in fiberglass for those wanting to paint the hood, and people mistake them for Panspeeds without the little turbo vent!

Your setup is diff titanium...you need something like a pan speed hood.

I can't tell you for sure if this is a GK bonnet because it has that small riser on the left side in the reverse vent and could either be modified or some other company's hood but its one of the ones that pop up for GK pics.

A little article on the SuperNow! FC's older setup

I'd rock that hood, but I'd duct it to my core.

Yes I do. Or the Atihun hood....... I don't understand some companies. I emailed then saying I have cash in hand for their hood at the one off price and never heard back from them

That's the plan when I can get someone to get one for me. I'll have to go back and redo the math for IC core sizing because I forgot what I had come up with for a 300-350 ranged setup and I already found a short Double pass Griffin rad I'll be using in the setup as well.

TitaniumTT 05-27-2009 10:23 AM

How much are those hoods. What's the delivers time/cost like? Does SuperNow offer/build them?

bjbubble 05-27-2009 02:46 PM

Last time I checked I believe they were about $650 in FG with the exchange rate a few months ago. Their online store disappeared but their site is http://www.kagotani.net/ so idk what's going on with them. I talked to Tom (aka Circuit Theory) about them and he said he could get them new. I would get in touch with him if your interested.

EJayCe996 05-27-2009 02:46 PM

In USD, the hoods themselves were like ~450 for fiberglass and nada clue for the CF. I know that Circuit Theory on the rx7club actually hangs out with/helps the Garage Kagotani guys but typically only sells what he has in his junkyard and doesn't like shipping hoods out to people (from Japan) unless they're in the containers he sends over to the US every once in a while, when he knows he's coming back for a few, to ship out stateside. I have inquired with RHDJapan not to long ago and they said they can get it, but they'd rather have a small GB to keep the price down.

^LOL^ Yea i should probably mention that the price I had was like as of a year-ish ago.

D'max works well with a v-mount setup. Your intercooler is in pretty much the same position as mine and mine sits perfectly with the hood vents.

My hood is a d'max replica. Fitment is ok, but not perfect. Cost NZ$800 so about US$500. Purchased it off a local company who imports them from the US so no doubt it will be a lot cheaper in the US

TitaniumTT 05-28-2009 11:53 PM

Yeah, but I'm not really feeling the look of that hood. Too many angles for a car with as many smooth lines as the FC.

I may just say eff it and build my own
