You can still order nearly ALL of the parts from Suzuki. And I believe Banzai Racing has experience with them. I know he has done some NSU rotary engines.

I've heard of RE5's making it to 100k on original build. There were problems with the carb and other things. The single rotor seemed pretty hearty.
Here's a site to find parts: http://www.rotaryrecycle.net/default...f1u445zkvv423x

^I haven't seen Zach's either, but DJ claims he will ride his to work everyday lol. BTW, glad to see ya on here. Heard the 6p Turbo is doing pretty good.

FerociousP 02-28-2008 12:03 PM

uhh, by doing good you mean low oil pressure once it warms up.... then yeah, its doing great!:icon_tdown::(

i dunno what is is, but i have to change the oil every couple of weeks because it gets gas in it, but it should still get better than 5psi at idle once fully warmed up even with the gas

A few tidbits...

The engines are single rotor, just under 500CC displacement. Not too many of the parts can still be bought from Suzuki, except for the ones that swap out with other models (like the GT750 Water Buffalo), or where a dealer happens to have some NOS parts still sitting on his shelf. You can get almost anything you need from Sam at www.rotaryrecycle.net. I've had the pleasure of getting to know Sam personally over the years, dealing with him on pieces and parts (I've owned four of them), and gotten to see his inventory and museum (though he's currently still sorting everything out at his new location- and the museum is not a public affair). Sam has bought out all of the NOS engine units left in the USA and Europe from Suzuki backstock (he's long since sold them all), and buys out nearly any dealer he runs across to get all their RE5 parts. Check out his online catalog- tons of NOS, Repro and good used stuff. He's gots literally hundreds of RE5s, W2000s, two Van Veens, Suzuki and Hercules prototype bikes, and he's a virtual walking encyclopedia on all things Wankel when it comes to bikes, and some of the side stuff too (MAC-10s, Dolmar KMS4s, etc.).

The bikes are too much fun! Someone should really pick this up off Luis. Wish I would have seen this last time I visited him, but it was buried.

Neal.

What's it generally cost to get a bike shipped from Alabama to Rhode Island?
(I've seen quotes for < $600.) Let's see how my raise goes.

Sounds to me like someone needs to rejet the carb if its fouling the plug. All that fuel will scar the rotor housing and flat spot the apex seals if you run it too long not being properly tuned.

Hello,

New here. I know nothing about these bikes or bikes in general except that I like all things Rotary. I may be interested.

Have a 100% Original 33000 miles Stock 1974 RX4 Coupe Blue on White and 100% Original 14000 miles Stock 1993 RX7 FD Silver on Red. Both original paint and interior and still look and shine like new.

It would be nice to add a rotary bike. What's the price and model. I will do the rest of the homework on my own and see if I move on it.

You can email me pics and info. I will send you a PM with my email address.

Thanks

Max
