I know, but my car is used primarily for drag so I am all about width. The tire selection hurts my auto-x times, but makes for good street traction.

I'm about drag racing too, just in the V8 car
If you wanted to make a drag setup simply call up Summit or Weld and they will drill a set of draglites in 4x110 no problem. I'm sure Cragar, Bogart, and others would too. 15x3.5's on the front and 15x9's in the back with a 245 would fit. :driving: |

I dont agree at all I have those 16x8 with 205/50/16 tires on the mazda and 17x7 with 205/40/17 on my civic the 90* sidewall is on the civic. the tires on the mazda are a bit small. 225 would probably look square on them, but 205 does not... at all. They look stretched to fit the rim. No speculation, Im telling you what I see everytime I stand next to both cars. If you are planning on running a 205 tire, go with a 7 inch rim |
There's a huge difference between a 205 passenger car tire and a 205 all-out high performance trackday/autocross tire. Specifically how more "square" the racing tire is for maximum cornering grip vs. how "rounded" a passenger tire is for NVH (Noise/Vibration/Harshness, a measure of ride quality and comfort). The 225/60/16 Goodyear's on the g/f's 01 Grand Prix are rounded and have a softer sidewall then the identically sized 225/60/16 Toyo Proxes on the cop car, which are square shouldered, stiffer, and much louder. The cop car also grips like crazy whereas her tires are all-seasons.
