Oppinions, Well boys I`ve already did this, Not hard at all. Use a stand-a-lone, by all means use a T2 tranny, You need to have some good basic mechanical skills, If you don`t have understanding of basic electrical, Then you need to pay someone who does to do this conversion, I ran the twins at first, Then went single, Now am going against the grain with a LSX. I have a thread of parts for sale here and on ther other forum. I`ll even sell you the already made subframe to mount a FD engine into a FC using FD stock mount configuration. And the FC tranny is in its stock position, No vibrations and stupid things related to a improper aglinment. Of the drivetrain. P.M. me if you like for more info. I wont just be looking for this threads growth. Louis

Nice... Pics of the subframe?
And seriously, PM WE3RX7 about it, he needs it in a bad way, he just doesn't know it yet  |
I did it back in 2003.
You can use the stock FD mounting points and make an adapter to mount it to the stock FC mounts. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...RX7/cradle.jpg If you are hellbent on using the stick serpentine belt with the FD cover then you have to revise the coolant lines to match an FC radiator. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...RX7/water2.jpg I went single, too juch headache trying to make the twins work, I first went with a T04E then a GT35R, the later dropped my spool down and increased my WHP by about 80. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...7/CIMG4705.jpg Run a Haltech, Megasquirt, Motec etc... and save yourself the trouble. |
